1. “Opening” of all activities The minimum number of participants shall be 3 independent legal

entities established in three different EU Member States or Associated Countries

2. Specific international co-operation actions (special rule)

The minimum number of participants shall be 4 independent legal entities of which:

– at least 2 are established in two different EU Member States or Associated countries

and – at least 2 are established in International Cooperation Partner Country (Russia)

coming from 2 different regions

•predicting climate, ecological, earth and ocean systems changes;

•tools and technologies for monitoring, prevention and mitigation of environmental pressures and risks including on health;

•sustainability of the natural and man-made environment.

=> develop new methods and a corresponding toolset for the environmental impact monitoring of mining operations using Earth Observations. Novel technology will be proposed for the combined use of satellite remote sensing, aerial lightweight measurements and Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs)

Duration: 36 months (ongoing)

Project Cost: 3.31 million euro (EC funding: 2.61 million euro)

• Developing generic production 'assets' (technologies, organisation and production facilities and human resources) while meeting safety and environmental requirements

•Focusing on new technologies, materials and applications to address the needs identified by European Technology Platforms

Example: SOLVSAFE FP6 project => advanced safer solvents for innovative industrial eco-processing

SOLVSAFE is a solvent innovation platform aimed at providing European SMEs with cutting-edge scientific knowledge, to introduce radical industrial process changes on the basis of identified environmental and saregy goals:
