Theorems
Diagonals of Rhombi are perpendicular. If the Diagonals of a parallelogram are
perpendicular, then the parallelogram is a Rhombi.
Example:
If BD AC, then Square ABCD is a Rhombus.
Similarities
Squares and Rhombi are convex quadrilaterals.
Both pairs of opposite sides are parallel. Rhombi and squares have all the
properties of a parallelogram. A square has all the properties of a
rhombus.
Similarities Cont.
All sides of a rhombi and square are congruent.
Diagonals are perpendicular in a square and a rhombi.
Diagonals bisect the angles of the rhombi and square.
Each diagonal of each shape bisects a pair of opposite angels.
Differences
A square has all right angles. A rhombus doesn’t have to have right
angles. If a rhombus has right angles it can be
considered a square. On a square both diagonals equal each
other.
