J-Hook and Alignment PinsThe RHI Holder offers two alignment

pins in the holder outlet, which helpassure correct rupture disc orientationinto the holder. The holder is alsoequipped with a J-Hook for properindexing and flow orientation betweenthe companion flanges. Both the J-Hookand alignment pins are provided on allRHI Holders.

    Tagging

The RHI Holder is supplied with apermanently attached stainless steelnameplate with arrows that indicate flowdirection. In addition, the Composite andMICRO X rupture discs are supplied witha three-dimensionalflow direction tag.Directional arrowson both the tag andnameplate provide ameans to visuallyverify the rupturedisc assembly isproperly oriented inyour system.

A customers pertinent identificationinformation (specified at time of order)will be stamped on the rupture disc tagsand holder tags.

Application FlexibilityIn the event that there is a change in

system operating requirements, theflexibility of the RHI Assembly permitsutilization of various rupture disc types inorder to meet a wide range of burstpressures. The Composite Flat SeatRupture Disc may be selected forhandling very low burst pressures (downto 3 psig / 0,20 barg, depending on size),and the MICRO X Rupture Disc can beutilized for higher pressures (up to 3600psig / 248,28 barg, depending on size). Thus, the type of rupture disc can bechanged, rather than replacing theexisting holder.

To determine minimum / maximumburst ratings for MICRO X or Composite(FS) rupture discs, refer to UNISERTAssembly bulletin no. 2-2203-2.

    INSTALLATION FEATURES

In situations where it is important forimmediate notification of pressure relief,Continental's patented B.D.I. (Burst Disc Indicator) Alarm System can be used. Compatible with the MICRO X and Composite Flat Seat rupture discs, the Universal B.D.I. Alarm is composed of copper conductors adhered to a Teflon** membrane and assembledbetween non-asbestos gaskets. As therupture disc bursts, the alarm strip issevered, triggering an electrical signalwhich translates into audio and/or visualwarning signals actuated through an

alarm monitor. The Continental DiscB.D.I. Alarm Monitor is available withFactory Mutual approval, intrinsically safeoutputs, and computer compatibility. For more information about theContinental Disc B.D.I. Alarm System, refer to bulletin no. 5-7701-5.
