One that can read tags operating at different frequencies.
Dumb reader One that read only one type of tag i.e. of same
frequency. Has very little computing power
Intelligent reader Run on different protocols Can filter data Can run application
Low frequency (125-134KHz)
• Used for shorter read range
High frequency (13.56MHz)
• Used for longer read range
Ultra high frequency (866-915MHz)
• Used for greater read distance but more sensitive
to environment factor
Microwave frequency(2.45-5.8GHz)
