REXWAY Rigid Metal Conduit (RMC) is produced to meet the specifications laid out in ANSI C80.1 and UL 6. Manufactured from high strength mild steel strip, REXWAY RMC has undergone extensive mechanical impact testing and is proven to be able to withstand excessive structural abuse. Ultimately this is the heaviest and thickest walled ANSI standard conduit Insteel produces.

REXWAY RMC is hot dipped galvanised inside and out to provide superior corrosion protection. Its clean even interior reduces friction between the wall of the conduits and the wires, providing easy wire pulling during installation.

Additionally, REXWAY RMC couplings, elbows and nipples are available right through to 6” providing you with the complete supply solution.

REXWAY Rigid Metal Conduit

REXWAY RMC nipples are made from the same grade of tubing as the conduit lengths, and threaded according to the same specifications. Trade sizes are available throughout our range of common size from 1/2” to 6”.

EMI from everyday electrical distribution systems cause problems to today’s sensitive equipment. From distortion of images on computers, to disruption of vital communication links, such problems can impact from the irritating to the catastrophic! Steel conduit cable management systems “are the most effective” in reducing EMI levels for encased power-distribution circuits, reducing the field levels by up to 95% ** (in 60-Hzl systems). While steel may not be the least expensive type of conduit available, it is the most cost effective approach in the long term, for controlling the impact of EMI.

For just this reason, the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) has recommended the use of steel conduit to overcome problems at locations where control, communications & airfield-lighting cable either cross or run parallel to each other. Hot Dipped Galvanising... Galvanising may be defined as the process by which zinc is metallurgical bonded over an iron or steel substrate to provide protection to the base metal. The zinc coating provides protection to the substrate in two distinct ways:

• By shielding the base metal to the atmosphere. • By providing anodic protection to the base metal.

All REXWAY RMC is hot dipped galvanised by dipping the cleaned and pickled bare steel conduit pipes into a molten zinc bath, kept at a consistent temperature of above 430°C. After exiting the zinc bath, an application of chromate conversion coating is added. Put simply, the zinc protects the steel and the chromate protects the zinc!
