PROGRAMS

Interior Design

Practical Aspects of Interior Design is a 3 semester diploma program

which can be fast tracked and completed in 10 months. The

curriculum has a strong emphasis on the principles and elements of

design, color harmony, historical styles and residential and commercial

designing. Our Advanced Studies Program in Interior Design is a 2 year

professional program that meets the educational requirements for the

NCIDQ exam. All of the Interior Design Classes offered at the

Metropolitan can also be taken on an individual basis for those

students who wish to continue their education.

Fashion Design

We also offer one and two year diploma programs in apparel and

fashion design. The curriculum includes flat pattern design, history of

fashion, illustration and drawing, design room techniques, principles

and elements and the complete study of textiles. This program is on a

full two time semesters per year basis and the area of study starts

with historical aspects of fashion design and culminates with a

creation of a fashion line and a runway show.

Feng Shui

Our Universal Feng Shui Practitioner Certificate Program incorporates

teachings from a variety of recognized Feng Shui schools such as BTB

Feng Shui, Pyramid, Form, Compass, and others. This course of study

was designed to give students and opportunity to hear from world

renowned teachers and published authors through lectures that

enhance the educational experience. The curriculum consists of nine

weekend sessions that span over nine months, allowing for intensive

studies, mentorship and experiential opportunities to learn and

become certified in the practice of Feng Shui.

Note: Guest lecturers and consultants in specialized fields of design are

invited at the discretion of the school to give presentations for the

student’s enrichment in interior design. MiD conducts all classes in a

classroom setting and/or decorator’s showroom.
