In fact many of the difficulties presented to him to create his own style was due to the strong rejection there within the industry, to the development of women in this profession and although Zaha said that although there is a lack of female role models she would not be in accordance with the precedents that

wrapped.

As are all the characters and historical leaders, beyond the warriors and politicians that has produced the province of Táchira, the architect Fruto Vivas (La Grita-1928), he born on January 21, 1928, marked the country with its beautiful, functional, popular and revolutionary architectural creations , dedicated to the art of living in c o n j u n c t i o n w i t h n a t u r e a n d t h e h u m a n .

It is one of Venezuela's most recognized architects nationally and internationally. In 1956 he graduated in architecture from the Universidad Central de Venezuela. He worked with the Brazilian architect Oscar Niemeyer (Museum of Modern Art in Caracas) and Spanish Eduardo Torroja (Club Táchira).

He built the Venezuela Pavilion for Expo 2000 Hannover, but resulted controversial project please the visitors (it was, after the flag of Germany, the second most visited). It is characterized by the shape of a flower, the lightness of the steel and glass structure, the mobility of the cover and contents of the exhibition based on the country's biodiversity. A flower overdimensional 18 meters high building stands. Its petals of ten meters open and close according to the weather. The presentation itself is an example of the country's biological diversity: thousands of tropical plants and numerous exotic fish are part of the exhibition in the glass pavilion. The four building terraces symbolize a tepui, flattened plateau and abrupt edges typical of the border between Venezuela, Brazil and Guyana

.Part of his philosophy is to integrate over the life of man to nature and as an architect to maximize human happiness. Some associate it with populist architecture. Proposes developing Latin American cities based on Indian

heritage, Arabic and Roman. Vivas's own words are:

“I speak of trees to live like a possible dream. Coexist with nature without our most important mastranto flower or a butterfly. “

He is primarily a creator and a poet of the human nest that is the house he calls home. We present and suggests a proposed housing as ecological and human family. Creator of numerous works, the most representative are, Hotel Moruco (State of Mérida), Club Táchira (Caracas), The Church of La Concordia (San Cristobal), Their experience in prefabrication with Banco Obrero (Caracas) and Havana (Cuba) Trees for Life (Caracas), Their experimental constructions in Nicaragua, The self-help housing in La Vega (Caracas) and the Venezuela Pavilion at the Hannover Exhibition. Currently at 84 years old, his ideologies are still an inspiration to many people and a revolutionary architecture in Venezuela.

Villanueva started and what has been called the First Time or Fall of Eclecticism (1929-1938) in its architecture, which is characterized, in general, by an eclectic use of architectural elements: neoclassical, Moorish and colonial, combined with the formulas academic of the École des Beaux Arts. Not only for its extraordinary creative work, but also for his commitment to teaching, Carlos Raúl Villanueva is also synonymous with the Central University of Venezuela. A culmination of his career in a manifesto brutalist, reinterpreted in the light of trends in Western and Japanese influence of Kenzo Tange. Develops full cubist vision in which there is no visible prospect, not a stable vanishing point and focuses on the idea of the mega-structure of Le Corbusier, from the force that prints the raw concrete. In simple words, is the pursuit of extreme simplicity. Beyond its architectural legacy, his deep scars and urbanist, the rich transformations that contributed to the arts in general and unconditional as his teacher, the great heritage that gave comprehensive Creole, to his profession and to his country, was to have entered Venezuelan architecture in the pages of the international architecture of the twentieth century, masterfully demonstrating universality is possible starting from the profound homage of the local. ehry was born Frank Owen Goldberg on February 28, 1929, in Toronto, Ontario to parents, Irwin and Thelma (née Thelma Caplan) GGoldberg His parents were Polish Jews. A creative child, he was

encouraged by his grandmother, Mrs. Caplan, with whom he would build little cities out of scraps of wood. With these scraps from her husband's hardware store, she entertained him for hours, building imaginary houses and futuristic cities on the living room floor. His use of corrugated steel, chain link fencing, unpainted plywood and other utilitarian or "everyday" materials was partly inspired by spending Saturday mornings at his grandfather's hardware store. He would spend time drawing with his father and his mother introduced him to the world of art. "So the creative genes were there", Gehry says. "But my mother thought I was a dreamer, I wasn't gonna amount to anything. It was my father who thought I was just reticent to do things.

Frank Gehry established his practice in Los Angeles, California in 1962. The Gehry partnership, Gehry Partners, LLP, was formed in 2001 and currently supports a staff of over 120 people. Gehry Partners employs a large number of senior architects who have extensive experience in the technical development of building systems and construction documents, and who are highly qualified in the management of complex projects.

Every project undertaken by Gehry Partners is designed personally and directly by Frank Gehry. All of the resources of the firm and the extensive experience of the firm's partners are available to assist in the design effort and to carry this effort forward through technical development and construction administration. The firm relies on the use of Digital Project, a sophisticated 3D computer modeling program originally created for use by the aerospace industry, to thoroughly document designs and to rationalize the bidding, fabrication, and construction processes.

The partners in Gehry Partners, LLP are: Frank Gehry, Brian Aamoth, John Bowers, Anand Devarajan, Jennifer Ehrman, Berta Gehry, Meaghan Lloyd, Tensho Takemori, Laurence Tighe & Craig Webb.

A flexible chaise longue and an armchair at the same time, that can be used for relaxation or as a temporary workstation. Seat, back and armrest are part of the same sinuous and continuous structure. The movable supporting surface provides an easier and more comfortable seating.

the PLOT seating for Brunner.

PLOT is a spatial seating landscape for a very wide range of use. Inspired by cascaded formations in nature, it provides multiple sitting positions.

The unique way of connecting and arranging the identical modules makes it the perfect solution for any space or situation, be it an university setting, a hotel lobby or an airport. By positioning the elements either conventionally or more loosely they always fit perfectly to their surroundings.

The seat-cushion, the armrest as well as the backrest are designed to function as a seat, thereby the user is free to choose his preferred sitting posture. Different people may use a single module in many different ways enhancing informal communication within a cooperate environment. With a couple of useful add-ons everybody can customize PLOT to serve one´s individual needs.

Bookworm by Atelier 010

Bookworm is the sculptural answer to a commission to design and produce an organic bookcase. Due to the curved shape, the case also offers a place to sit and relax.

The self-supporting shape consists of three parts, which are assembled on site and kept upright by a stainless steel foot in the sidewall. Bending thin layers of MDF and plywood across custom-made molds creates the curved shape. The outsides of the walls are spray-painted in colour.

The Russian designer, Dima Loginoff has created some lovely lightning designs based on simple and clever ideas. He has recently made 4 different lamps (Amourette, Miami, Andrew and Curl My Light) with more or less the same expression with a curly effect draping around the light. We especially enjoy seeing the Amourette design swirling down from the ceiling like an over-sized citrus peel.

One of the university's most iconic buildings, Suzzallo Library, with its collegiate gothic style that feels more cathedral thanhouse of books, was a natural place to start. ZGF's PatrickGordon, the principal in charge of the project, explains that they wanted to “evoke the university's past with design that wassubtle, modern, and yet timeless.”

Guests to the Alumni Washington Commons are welcomedfirst by a simple etching on the wall of Suzzallo's majestic stained-glass windows, symbolic of knowledge and history.

in the boardroom. Overlooking the table is a dramatic graphic, created by Seattle's Studio SC, that depicts University ofWashington graduates and represents the university's past and future legacy.

Standing in the heart of the space, visitors are treated to a sweeping view of the campus. To the designers, it was key to make the connection between this space and the university. So etched on large picture windows is a silhouette of Memorial Way, the tree-lined formal entrance to the university's campus. On the opposing wall, a large graphic of Mt. Rainier stands in place of the real view of the mountain, which can be seen looming in the distance from several points on campus.
