What is the proper way to use/focus on an object using the microscope?

• Start w/lowest power lens in place. Then place slide on stage

• Focus using coarse adjustment. Fine tune as needed with fine adjustment

• Switch to medium power.• Fine tune focus as needed with fine adjustment• Switch to high power.• Fine tune focus as needed with fine adjustment• When done, switch to low power before removing

slide.

• Hooke: Invented compound microscope. Used it to discover cells, showing that detailed observations help scientific discovery van
