QLD Security Officers-
Crowd Control Revalidation Training
To comply with the QLD Office of Fair Trading licensing
requirements, it is ex-
pected the Crowd Control Officers undertake refresher training
once every 3
ears. This training is also referred to in the industry as
Triennial Revalidation or
TR.
This four page brochure contains everything you need to know
about this licensing
obligation and how the MSS Training Academy can be of service
for your training
eeds.
The revalidation training comprises of 3 units that are
constantly updated and
eed to be completed by Crowd Control Officers once every 3 years
to remain
urrent with the latest techniques. The 3 units are:
CPPSEC3002A Manage Conflict Through Negotiation
CPPSEC30131A Control Persons Using Empty Hand Techniques
HLTAID003 Provide First Aid
Upon receiving a letter from the QLD Office of Fair Trading
advising you of your re
training obligations, please contact the MSS Training Academy
who can facilitate
his training for you. We offer a variety of programs to meet

Crowd Control Revalidation Trainingo maintain your QLD Security
Officer Crowd Controller Licence you are required to undertake
training in the
following units.
CPPSEC3002A -Manage conflict through negotiation
This unit of competency specifies the outcomes required to use
effective communication tech-niques to manage a conflict situation.
It requires the ability to assess security risk
situations,accurately receive, interpret and relay information,
adapt communication styles and techniquesto varying social and
cultural environments, and evaluate responses.
This unit of competency has wide application in the security
industry in those roles involvingoperational activities. Competency
requires legal and operational knowledge applicable to rele-vant
sectors of the security industry. The knowledge and skills
described in this unit are to beapplied within relevant legislative
and organisational guidelines.
CPPSEC3013A -Control person using empty hand techniques
This unit of competency specifies the outcomes required to
select and apply appropriate empty hand techniques. It requiresthe
ability to use force in circumstances where there is a risk to
safety of self and others. Competency also requiresknowledge of the
procedures for conducting an arrest.
This unit of competency has wide application in the security
industry in those roles providing guarding and personal protec-tion
activities. Competency requires legal and operational knowledge
applicable to relevant sectors of the security industry.
The knowledge and skills described in this unit are to be
applied within relevant legislative and organisational
guidelines.
HLTAID003 -Provide First Aid
This unit is required for all persons who may be required to
provide a first aid response in a range of situations,
includingcommunity and workplace settings.

Revalidation Training Schedule
Instructor: Darryl Goodwin
Course Schedule: This course is scheduled to run once every
month. It can occur twice a month when thedemand is higher.
Cost: $250 for all 3 units$150 for Provide First Aid only$150
for CPPSEC3002A & CPPSEC3013A only. ($75 per unit) *Discounts
apply for existing MSS Security employees
Course Program:
Day 1 11am to 2pm CPPSEC3002A -Manage conflict through
negotiation(Wednesday) 2pm to 4.30pm CPPSEC3013A -Control persons
using empty hand techniques
Day 2 & 3(Thursday & Friday) 8am to 4pm HLTAID003
-Provide First Aid (2 Day Program)*
*If, upon enrolment, you already have a Provide First Aid
Statement of Attainment that is no more than 3 months out ofdate,
you may be eligible for the 1 Day Provide First Aid Program and
would not need to attend the 2 Day Provide FirstAid course.
