TWENTY SECOND SUNDAY IN ORDINARY TIME TRADITION

Tradi on is long human memory set, not in stone, but in human interac on. Without this ac ve memory, the bonds of rela onship and affec on fray and fall apart. Communi es dissolve as surely as neglected buildings do. A er par cipa ng in events, celebra ons, and even small rituals, we remark about how good it is to gather and remember. Today’s readings remind us of founda ons laid deeper than the human will to relate. Today we hear about God’s will to relate to us—to be our God as we are called to be God’s own beloved people.

Today in three readings and three ways we remember the covenant bonds that create us as a people and the obliga on and responsibility that express the innermost a tude of soul. You are mine. I am yours. These are God’s words that created a people as surely as “Let there be light” created the sun and moon and all the stars. Copyright © J. S. Paluch Co.

Merciful Father, You desire the welfare of all your children. Stretch out Your protec ng arm over our men and women in the service. Shield them from every danger to body, mind and soul. Comfort them in loneliness, sustain them in

hardship, give them the courage they need to fulfill their duty and so do Your will in all things. Bestow on our leaders and the leaders of the world the wisdom and prudence which will bring peace and jus ce to all men.

This we ask through Jesus Christ, Your Son, Our Lord. Amen. Mary, help of Chris ans, pray for us.

A New catholic Radio Station

There's a new faith-based Catholic radio sta on in Palm Beach County -- WPBV-FM 98.3 -- the "Catholic Voice of the Palm Beaches. The sta on can be heard over the radio by nearly 200,000 listeners according to es mates by the sta on's engi-neer. The low-power sta on's signal can be heard from Te-questa to the north, to south of 45th Street to the south, and to the west as far as the Beeline Highway. Furthermore, the sta on can be listened to via the internet through its website and mobile app. For now, 24/7 programming is broadcast by virtue of a feed from the EWTN Global Catholic Radio Network but some local programming will be added in the near fu-ture. Listen live at 98.3 FM or at www.WPBVRadio.com

WPBV-FM radio joins two other catholic radio sta ons located in the diocese: WJPP-FM 100.1 in Palm City and WDMC in Mel-bourne. (www.divinemercyradio.com)
