Anchored to the soaker layer HaloShield attracts and stabilizes residual chlorine molecules from thewash cycle (Figure 1). During normal laundering, the underpad is “re-charged” with fresh chlorine fromthe wash cycle (Figure 2). When odor-causing bacteria come in contact with the chlorine molecules(Figures 3 and 4) the bacteria are killed by the natural antimicrobial properties of chlorine, removing thesource of the odor.

Best of all, HaloShield is rechargeable technology.As illustrated in the diagram above, once thesoiled HaloShield underpad is laundered withchlorine bleach, the underpad is once again fullycharged for maximum odor control.
