SUMMARY OF RESOLUTIONS AND DECISIONS OF THE REGIONALCOMMIrI FOR THE WESTERN PACIFIC - - SECOND SESSION

The Second Session of the Regional Committee was held in Manilafrom 18th to 23.st September 1951.

The Regional Committee Members were welcomed to Manila by theHon. Fernando Lopez, Vice-President of the Philippines. The Session wasopened with an address by the Chairman, Dr. Padus. The Regional Conwitt^Padopted the draft agenda and elected Dr. Sonn Mam (Cambodia ) and Dr. Yeo.(U. K.) as Rapporteurs for French and English respectively.

In the course of seven meetings the Regional Committee adoptedthe following-resolutions.

DECIDES that the Third Session of the Regional Committeewill be held in Saigon , Vietnam, during the second orthird week of September 1952, the precise dates, to bedetermined by the Regional Director.

On completion of the agenda the Regional Committee adopted aproposal by the Chief Delegate of Japan to thank those who contributed tothe success of the meeting and to place on record their appreciation of:

(1) The Government of the Republic of the Philippinesfor their reception-and hospitality and particularlyto the Departments and Staff of the Foreign AfTeirs,Department of Health, and.Airport Staff.

(2) The Honorable Fernando 'Lopez , the Vice-Presidentof the Philippines for his words of welcome to theCommittee and for his reception to,Delegates andobservers at the ?lacanan Palace.

(3) The Honorable Dr. Juan Salcedo,'Jr., Secretaryof Health, for his warm reception extended to us.
