The next reunion takes place 3-7 October, 2013 in Wiesbaden.
Sam Rushing and your committee have organized a trip full of
memories with fun and camaraderie for all.
We are asking you register with Dick Ardisson by 31 July 2012.
You must register with Dick for the activities we are
sponsoring as well as your attendance. Second you must make
your room reservation at the Oranien Hotel, Wiesbaden.

Hotel &Travel Information Summary
• Room Rate: Double € 110 (~$143); Single €85 (~$111) /night includes taxes and 2 breakfast/room/day.
• No pets are allowed in the hotel
• $50 per person for the dinner banquet.

• $35 per person for the day tour to the former intra-German border. We’re planning for lunch in Gotthards at our
favorite gasthaus. No charge for the visit to the briefing tree.
• $15 per person registration fee. The registration fee increases to $20 per person after 31 July 2012.
• The Registration Form is found on page 5. Print, fill out and return to Dick Ardisson as shown on the form by 31 July
2012. Include payment in full at time of registration or send a minimum of $100 per person.
• Specific flight information is not released, by the airlines, until 330 days prior to departure date. We can't give
any price information, at this time.
• Everyone will be responsible for his/her travel from the airport to and from Wiesbaden. Nominally about 20 - 25
kms. However frequent construction around the airport makes it very difficult to calculate the route one must take.
There could also be construction around Erbenheim that changes distance calculations. The following info is
provided as a baseline, but please check this website for up to date information about getting from FRA to
Wiesbaden. http://wikitravel.org/en/Wiesbaden#From_Frankfurt_Airport_.28FRA.29. Details, exchange rates
and prices will undoubtedly change by October 2013.
o A round trip train ticket is €24 (~$31.20) and it's a 30 minute ride from the Frankfurt Airport to the
Wiesbaden Train Station. S-Bahn is a much better deal at €4.10 one-way and goes every 15 minutes. No bus
service. From Terminal 1, follow the signs to the regional train station (Frankfurt (Main) Flughafen
Regionalbahnhof) which is in the basement of the Airport building. Usually Wiesbaden is the terminal station
for the S-Bahn/regional train so you can easily find the correct platform. Note: There are two train stations at
the airport; in the basement the regional train station (S-Bahn & fast regional trains) and one for mid-/long-
distance (Fernbahnhof) trains.
o The long-distance train station is a longer walk (about an extra 10 minutes) and has much less frequent
service to Wiesbaden.
o Buying your ticket:
� The new vending machines sell both RMV (local travel network) and DB (long distance) tickets. To
buy a ticket e.g. for the S-Bahn, make sure you are in RMV mode. Then enter your direction on the
virtual keyboard or directly per destination code:
� Wiesbaden: 65, Frankfurt (City): 50, Frankfurt (Airport): 5090
� After having named your destination, choose "Einzelfahrt Erwachsene" for a single trip and the
screen should display €4.10 if you are at the airport or €7.30 if you are in Frankfurt. Insert € coins or
bills. Some machine accept credit card, too. The printed ticket is already validated and you can board
the S8 or S9 for Wiesbaden. (S1 from Frankfurt city as well). Don't hesitate to ask for help if you need
it! There is also a RMV information desk at the airport's short-distance train station.
o Car rentals start at approximately $45 per day. Currently, gas is north of $7 per gallon. Parking, at the
Oranien is €4.50 (~$5.85) per day.
o A taxi from Frankfurt Airport (FRA) to Wiesbaden costs around €60,
o The hotel does not provide shuttle service, from the train station. It is an approximate 25 minute hike, from
the station.

The Quartermaster Store

All products, prices, insignia, payment, shipping (direct to customer), etc. are all there. We offer great Lands End products and most can be specialized with our 1-70 Armor Distinctive Unit Insignia and mottos. Give our store a call at 800-587-1541 and give the Lands End service pro our customer number: 4555450. They will walk you through buying any of our “Tanker-approved” products. We strongly suggest that you call our Lands End customer service people to order. You have several insignia options from just the official DUI alone, or with mottos “Strike Swiftly” or “Tankers”. Examples of the insignia choices are available on the website in the product order process. Their pros will help you get the item and exact insignia you really want. However, you can order on-line as well. Call our store to order: 800-587-1541. Our Customer Number is: 4555450.
