Bir thdays Our heartfelt sympathy goes out to four Ace Family
Members; Amy Drew lost her father, James G. Lester III
on July 2nd at the age of 75, Ginger Hinkel lost her son,
James “Jim” Leonard Brochey II on July 17th at the age of
44, Pam Vickers lost her father, Warren “Alton” Hamlin on
July 24th at the age of 72 and Drew Murley lost his uncle,
David Carter, at the age of 40 and beloved cousin, Olivia
Brynn Carter at the young age of 6 on August 15th. Our
thoughts and prayers are with these four families during
this difficult time.
We are excited to announce the unveiling of Ace
University, our new training and education program that
will provide all Ace employees with convenient and
accessible training options via in-person, digital/online or
virtual/interactive learning sessions. “Ace U” will offer em-
ployees a vast array of courses in the areas of
business, IT and safety. More importantly are the career
development opportunities like the Apprenticeship
Program, “World-Class” Training, Pro-Start Training,
InterfACE Orientation Training, Leadership Training,
Mentoring, Skills Upgrade Training, foreign language
classes and the Qualified Electrical Worker designation
program. Ace University will provide Ace employees with
opportunities to better their technical, communications
and leadership skills which will open doors for
advancement and career growth.
Ace recently received the US Department of Labor
accreditation as an Electrical Apprenticeship Program
Training Institution. In addition, our brand new
Apprenticeship Program that was developed internally to
focus more on Ace culture and the skills and information
needed specifically for the segments of construction we
work in, has been approved in Georgia, North Carolina and
Tennessee. Having our own “in-house” Apprenticeship
Program provides more flexibility to the students by way
of class inclusion and credit for previous on-the-job
experience or training. This new Apprenticeship Program
will provide students with a more cultivated pathway to
receiving a nationally-recognized Journeyman
Certification. Our first Ace University Apprenticeship clas-
ses for those individuals seeking to pursue a Journey Level
Electrician certificate, will commence in January 2021.

Barry Hart recently graduated from the University of
Georgia with a Bachelor of Business Administration and
was accepted into Georgia Tech for the Masters of
Science in Cybersecurity starting January 2021. Great
job Barry!
Ace received CEFGA’s K-12 Pipeline Employer of the
Year Award for 2020! Ace has developed great
relationships with multiple K-12 schools throughout
Georgia by providing students with school-to-work
opportunities, internships and the opportunity to
participate in the Apprenticeship Program. Ace has
also sponsored, and provided judges for various skills
challenges in addition to providing speakers to educate
students about careers in construction, specialized
training opportunities, lunch-and-learn events, jobsite
tours and “in kind” donations of items such as electrical
materials and construction PPE.
Each year Ace Electric employees log millions of miles
traveling to and from work sites. Driving is a dangerous,
but necessary activity we all take part in every day to get
to and from work, pick up children from school and other
activities, run errands, etc. Now that fall is here and
(most) schools are open again, there will be buses on the
roads, active school zones and more pedestrian traffic in
our communities. Be on the lookout for buses stopping
on the roads, lower speed limits in school zones and
children crossing the streets. Nobody wants to be the
cause of any type of traffic accident, especially one in-
volving children. Drive safely…like it’s your neighborhood!
Also remember that the cooler temperatures will have
the wildlife on the move. Deer strikes are becoming more
frequent and dangerous. Keep an eye out for them on
roadways in lesser populated areas and if you see any on
the shoulder of the road or in the edges of fields or
woods, slow down because they are very unpredictable
and will dart out into the roadway.
