Mariak’s Retractable Window Awning is one of the most robust and effective exterior  shading  systems  available.    This  unique  system  is  specifically  engineered to reduce the amount of sunlight and solar heat entering a room.  The  Retractable  Window  Awning  is  designed  for  windows  and  is  not  intended for use with doors.  It features spring loaded awning arms that drop and  pivot  from  the  midpoint  of  the  window.    This  flexibility  allows  the  awning to project from vertical (up against the wall) down to approximately 130‐degrees.    Because  the  Retractable Window  Awning  can  stop  at  any  desired position,  it offers  the perfect combination of outward visibility and sun protection.

Retractable Window Awning Installation Instructions

1.  Retractable Window Awning installations require 4” of vertical space.   2.  Slightly  loosen  the  headbox  retaining bolt  and  remove  the  installation 

brackets from the headbox.   3.  Attach  headbox  installation  brackets  4”  to  6”  above  the  window  by 

screwing  them  into  the exterior wall of  the house or building with  the 1/4” lag bolt included. 

4.  Set the headbox down  into the headbox  installation brackets.   Slide the headbox  (hood)  retaining bolts  into  the  installation bracket notch, and tighten the bolts to secure the headbox. 

5.  Using the table below, find the proper vertical distance for mounting arm brackets.    (Note:    If  awning  is  over  10  ft  wide,  a  third  arm  will  be  required).

6.  Secure awning arm brackets to the wall with the 3/16” lag bolts provided.  Bend awning arms upright to come in contact with the awning front bar.  Attach the arm clamps to the awning front bar and secure with the 1/4’ Allen head screws provided.
