    Friends -

Yesterday I mailed you an invitation to attend a "thank-you" lunch buffet at Fatty's on

March 25th, the first day of early absentee voting in Breckenridge for the upcoming Town

Council election. My goal was simply to encourage voting. My hope was that you support

my positions on the issues and would consider voting for me.

Today learned through the very conscientious work of the Town Clerk that this is not

permissible. Municipal law is clear - no person (i.e. voter) can receive any consideration

of anything of value in return for voting or not voting in an election. am writing this

letter to tell you was wrong and that there can be no free "thank-you" lunch at fatty's

on Thursday. It honestly never occurred to me that offering spaghetti. meatballs and

pizza after you exercised your voting rights in privacy as a means to say "thank-you" was

inappropriate. apologize that did not check with Town officials prior- to mailing the

invitation. Needless to say, this has been a humbling experience for me.

The ability to make sound judgments comes not from always being right but also being

able to admit when a mistake has been made, and, made a mistake.

you have any questions regarding this or any other issue please feel free give me a call

    at 970-485-1554.

    Respectfully,

    Mike Dudick
