Getting Started

Unpacking the Apple® iPad®:

1. Lift the top off of the iPad® box. 2. Gently pull on the plastic tab toward the top of the box and peel down, unwrapping the unit. Lift

it up out of the box, and place it where it won’t slide or fall. 3. Remove the square power adapter and the USB cable from beneath the removable panel.

4. Unwrap both pieces, plug the USB into the back of the adapter, and flip open the prongs.

5. Plug the wall charger into the extension cord, which is located behind the stand on which the iPad® is displayed. Plug the floor end of the extension cord into a wall outlet.

Installing the Apple® iPad® into the kiosk enclosure:

1. Using the provided key, unlock and remove the front cover of the metal enclosure and set it aside for now.

2. Begin placing the iPad® into the enclosure, plugging the charger into the port on the bottom of the unit.

3. Gently slide the iPad® into place. It should fit comfortably and securely. 4. Press and hold the power button on the top-left of the unit until the Apple® logo appears.

Software Setup:

1. From the home screen, press Settings, followed by Wi-Fi.

2. Select your wireless network, and enter the appropriate password (if applicable).

3. Return home, and open the Kiosk Pro application.

4. Triple-tap the home button, and then select Start in the top-right corner. This enables Guided Access, which locks customers into the current application.

5. Take the enclosure cover that you removed and set aside in Step 1, and re-mount it. a. Tilt the cover so that the left side is closer to you than the right side and insert the tab of

the enclosure cover into the slot on the enclosure bottom. It will catch and swing closed in a hinge-like fashion.

6. Press the extended button on the left side of the enclosure cover to lock it.

Post-Install Tasks

Exiting the Kiosk application (for maintenance, system updates, etc.):

1. Remove the front cover of the metal enclosure using the provided key.

2. Triple-tap the home button and enter the Passcode included with your unit.

3. Press End in the top-left corner, and then press the home button once again. 4. You’ve now reached the standard iPad® home screen. From here, you may adjust settings and

perform system maintenance, among other things. 5. When you are finished, be sure to re-enable Guided Access, and re-lock the unit into the

enclosure using the steps below.

Re-locking the unit:

1. From the main home screen, tap the Kiosk Pro application.

2. Triple-tap the home button and select Start in the top-right corner. This enables Guided Access, which locks customers into the current application.

Troubleshooting

Freezes:

If the unit appears to freeze for any extended period of time, please follow these steps: 1. Remove the cover of the enclosure and set it aside for now. 2. Press and hold the home button – located on the front of the unit, at the bottom – and

the power button – located on the top of the unit, on the right-hand side – for several seconds until the screen goes black and the Apple® logo appears.

3. Once booted, follow these instructions to start your Kiosk application again.
