    WORK EXPERIENCE

    Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (November 2004 tillpresent)Deputy Director - EnergyFICCI, established in 1927, is an apex chambers of commerce and industry with amembership of over 500 Chambers of Commerce, Trade Associations and Industry bodies.As a proactive body, FICCI has been at the forefront of analyzing the impact of events, bydiscussing issues in the multi-disciplinary forum consisting on business, academia, policymakers and foreign experts.

    Responsibilities: Identifying issues of business importance in the energy sector through active

    interactions with major players in the public and private sector, governmentdepartments, civil society and NGO's.

    Co-ordinating with various Govt. departments at the senior level regarding majornational policy issues and providing them with inputs on behalf of the industry.

    Organising various international conferences and training programmes in theenergy sector. Travelling both within and outside the country to foster industryrelationships.

    Special area of work includes project conception, development, appraisal andmanagement. Responsibilities include supervision and co-ordination with variousagencies and mobilisation of resources from within FICCI and outside.

    Coordinating with Embassies and High Commissions abroad, and other counterpartChambers and Industry Associations for regular inflow of information.

    Expanding the existing network and providing effective customer service to FICCImembers

    Assisting the Joint Business Councils in arranging one to one meetings betweenIndian and foreign companies.

    Independent Power Producers Association of India. (May November, 2004)Research AnalystIPPAI is an independent non-profit organization functioning as a forum for discussion anddebate of policy & regulatory issues pertaining to Indian power and infrastructure sector.

    Responsibilities:

    Identifying key issues pertaining to the related sectors, networking with the relevantstakeholders, governmental agencies, etc.

    Compilation ofPower Pulse, a weekly newsletter on the power sector.

    Liaison with Government departments and Agencies, public and private sectorpower industry stakeholders on policy initiatives and sector development.

    Conceptualizing, planning and coordinating issue-based conferences and initiativesin the Power & Allied Infrastructure Sectors.

    Preparing all background notes, research & study materials and documentation forIPPAIs conferences, workshops and other initiatives.
