Objective

Attain an entry-level Mechanical Engineering position in the Automotive Industry.

Education

Purdue University (West Lafayette, Indiana)

Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering

Graduated May 2016

Senior Design Project: Handheld Sewing Machine Designed a Feed Dog Mechanism to push the fabric in the path of the needle. Consisted of a

plate with teeth, attached to a driveshaft via a cam.

Designed a gear system to connect the feed dogs with the bobbin mechanism, connecting a second line of strand, via a gear system.

Designed an electrical control system using an Ardunio micro-controller for the motor.

Designed, developed, and debugged an H-bridge and A/D converter circuit to govern the speed and direction of the motor using Eagle CAD software to develop the wiring diagram.

Performed Finite Element Analysis using Creo to analyze components highlighted from safety reviews to be at risk of failure. Analysis proved risk was minimal.

Orally presented and defended project before an industrial review panel. Project was a finalist, (finished 4th out of 47 teams) in the Purdue Spring 2016 Malott

Innovation Competition.

Experience Mechanical/Project Engineering Intern (August 2016 –Present)

Col-Met Engineered Finishing Solutions (Rockwall, Texas)

Leading Project to increase efficiency in manufacturing by creating an inventory of part

drawings, CAD files, nesting sheets for turrets and slears, bills of materials, and job packets

for standardized products.

Project is central to company’s transition to building standard spray booths with light

customization options including ductwork, fans, valves, and lighting fixtures.

The end result of this project is to enable the company to expedite the design and drafting

processes when fulfilling an order made by a customer, drastically increasing the speed of

production for the company.

In addition to the aforementioned role, created part CAD files and part drawings of paint

booths with SolidWorks.

Skills Certified Engineer In Training (EIT#56636) by the Texas Board of Professional Engineers.

Skilled with MATLAB, and LabView. o Created multiple scripts in MATLAB to analyze mechanical systems and determine

parameters such as kinematic coefficients. o Used LabView to create controls systems to govern the behavior of various

programs through a Compact-Rio microcontroller system. This was used to control servo motors.

Experienced with SolidWorks, Creo, Inventor, and Catia CAD programs. o Used SolidWorks to create part drawings for senior design project. o Received formal training in SolidWorks for large assemblies from GoEngineer while

at Col-Met. o Used Creo to design the components for senior design project and toy design

project. o Used AutoDesk Inventor to design components for sophomore design project. o Exposure to Catia, including: basic objects, functioning assemblies, more advanced

objects (i.e. gears), and part drawings from college course work.

Strong background in German language with 5 years of study. o Served as liaison between a German member of Senior Design team and the rest of

the team when communication problems arose.

Honors / Achievements

Alpha Lambda Delta and Phi Eta Sigma (Purdue honor societies).

Eagle Scout. Attained rank of Eagle Scout in the Boy Scouts of America winter 2010.

Order of the Arrow: Boy Scouts of America’s honor society. Inducted winter 2008.

Community Service

Helped build wheelchair ramps for inner city families with the Texas Ramp Project

Constructed game tables for underprivileged children as part of Eagle Scout Project.

Helped paint parking lot at local YMCA.

Helped construct a home for a family via Habitat for Humanity.

Helped build a wooden bridge over a ditch near local YMCA.

Helped with repairs to a city park, Harry Myers Park.
