Led successful commissioning of world’s largest single train Ammonia-Urea Complex as Lead Process Engineer

BRIEF RUN DOWN OF ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES: Contact Process Engineering (2005~2009 & 2011 onwards) Responsibilities & Achievements:

a. Focal point for developing Power & Energy audit sheets for Maliec Anhydride and Butane Diol plant for SEEC communication at Sipchem.

b. Daily plant monitoring of Huntsman’s Meliec Anhydride, JM Davy’s Butane Diol, Saipam’s Ammonia-Urea complex, MHI CO2 recovery plant, & Linde’s Cryogenic Nitrogen plant to identify operating issues, troubleshooting and communicating to the management regarding for improvement and optimization.

c. Process simulations for complete Ammonia / Methanol plant to verify plant PFDs and identify bottlenecks for future expansion.

d. Conducting Product Test Run, Technical Monitoring Plan for bench marking plant performance and to identify bottlenecks & troublesome areas of the plant.

e. Issuance of monthly / quarterly & annual reports to evaluate and communicate plant performance to the management.

f. Integration of Dynamic Simulation models for CO2 recovery / Urea & LINDE Nitrogen plant with MS Excel to develop Material and Energy balance.

Commissioning / Startup Engineering (2010~2011), Achievements:

Page 2: Resume Muhammad Imran Idris

a. Successful commissioning / startup of 3835 MeT/D capacity Urea plant, 450 MeT/D CO2 recovery plant, 700 NMCH capacity liquid & Gas N2 plant, 9000 NMCH capacity Instrument & plant air facility.

b. Development of dynamic models for the simulation of multistage centrifugal compressors anti-surge control logic to troubleshoot operational issues and conducted operator training accordingly.

c. Conducted post commissioning HAZOP for the installed facility at the completion of commissioning phase before going for startup

d. Supervision of Ammonia / Urea plant startup. Modifications in plant startup procedures to save Ammonia plant reformer convection section from damage and successful implementation.

e. Identification & troubleshooting of issues during plant commissioning in the role of contact process engineer.

f. Conducted plant performance test run to bench mark steam, power and energy indices.g. Took the initiative to carry out Successful commissioning of CO2 recovery plant in the absence of principal

vendor MHI Japan. Modified CO2 recovery absorber and Regenerator level control logic for stable plant operation.

h. Controller tuning using dynamic modeling in ASPEN HSYS and then implementing it online.i. Training of process operation engineers for CO2 recovery / Urea / N2 / Instrument Air plantj. Reduction of Urea plant effluents to zero by recycling effluent streams back to process, currently Urea plant

contributes around 60 m3/hr of Non-NEQS compliant effluent that is then pumped to evaporation ponds and pollutes underground water bed
