Jan 2010 – May 2010 Graduate Special Research St John’s University, NY

“Induction and Analysis of protein expression by truncated region of eIF4GI in E.coli BL21 DE3 cells"

• Investigated the truncated version of eukaryotic Initiation Factor eIF4GI by cloning it into vector

pET duet I and thereafter analyzed its protein expression in E.coli BL21 DE3 cells.

Sept 2009 – Dec 2009 Academic Research Project St John’s University, NY

“Identification of unknown cDNA by inducing and analyzing protein expression in E.coli BL21 DE3 cells

as ACMPK gene that encodes for Ca2+/calmodulin (CaM) – dependent multi functional protein kinase”

• Characterized and identified the unknown cloned cDNA through restriction enzyme digestion as ACMPK

gene.

• Amplified the cloned cDNA using E.coli DH5α cells and after inducing protein expression through E.coli BL21 cells isolated and purified the corresponding CaMK protein by Ni Affinity Column

Chromatography.
