1. Area of application: Green buildings and Heat transfer.Project title: Experimental Investigation of Thermo- Physical Property Evaluation of NovelInsulation Materials and its Theoretical Heat Flux Analysis.

In this study modified mortar are developed by adding Thermcol, Fly ash and Egg shell powderfor sand in the conventional mortar. The proportioning of the materials are changed in order to get thebest mixture in terms of physical, mechanical thermal properties of the mortar. The theoretical Coolingload and Energy savings with proposed modified mortar as an insulation layer in the roof is calculated.The newly introduced novel materials have shown good improvement in desired properties. Thereforethe identified waste material shows a good potential to serve as a replacement for conventional sandused. This demonstrates a good opportunity to use the waste materials as a raw material for buildingpurpose.2. Area of application: Natural fiber composites.Project title: Strength Analysis of Sisal Reinforced Composites.

The project is about the preparation of composites with natural fiber materials in Epoxy resinmatrix and analyzing the strength of the composites in different orientations of the fiber layers usingexperimental procedures and Finite Element Analysis (FEA) method using ANSYS software. The fiberlayer orientations of 0°/0°/0° and 0°/90°/0° were selected. The experimental results were found inmatch to the FEA results at acceptable levels. Also the strength properties of the bidirectionalcomposites (0°/90°/0°) were found to be better than that of the unidirectional composites (0°/0°/0°).PERSONAL DETAILS
