Academic: Degree in Electromechanical Engineering by University of Coimbra (ISEC) 2010-2016
-Personal info-
From very young had demonstrated technical skills above average, disassembling toys to create my own with 6 years
old, building radio controlled boats from RC cars parts, at age of 14 built alone a off-road vehicle with independent
suspension, reverse gear, powered by a two stroke Yamaha 125cc engine. With 19 years old after finishing electronics
in school, I decided start my own automotive business named Scorcher Imports to learn advanced mechanics by
repairing customer’s cars and doing improvements in their performance achieving 500hp in some projects. In order to
launch my own automotive business, I had concluded that the best way to start is having some top work to show to
potential clients, so I invested everything I have buying tools and a sports car Nissan 200sx s13 just to rebuild the
engine. This initiative give immediate results in geral mechanics work on customer’s cars and the first project by 2007.
What´s drive me, the engineer passion of materialize ideas/philosophies, the act of conceptualizing and building
something with a real purpose.
My interest in applying consist helping Koenigsegg going further focusing being the number one by excellence.
-Work history-
2006 to present - Scorcher Imports automotive business founder and chairman.
Project: Nissan 200sx s13 CA18DET Execution date: 2007-2010 (first part)
Objective: Improve power output, 170 to over 300hp
Description: Engine fully rebuild to STD spec´s with Nissan genuine parts, tested with bigger Garret turbochargers
(GT2860RS, GT3071R) and HKS camshafts (264º 8,8mm intake and 256º 8,8mm exhaust)
Project: Nissan 200sx s13 RB30 block with RB26DETT head Execution date: 2010-2012 (second part)
Objective: Create something exotic, fearless and extreme
Description: Start with the best Nissan engine RB26DETT from a Skyline GT-R and build it with a RB30 block from a
Nissan Patrol, this displacement increase from 2600cc to 3000cc came from 11,3mm extra stroke, this six cylinders
being 70kg heavier than the stock engine means that I need to do something about the weight distribution. So i just
cut the firewall out to assembly the engine close to the car center as possible resulting in 44/56 weight distribution of
1180kg (final car weight).
Project: Mazda 323 GTX B6T Execution date: 2007-2008 (Costumer car)
Objective: Build the biggest engine suitable for the chassis
Description: With 1600cc 16v turbo 150hp from factory I use a BP 1800cc natural aspirated to do a forced induction
conversion, internals are replaced for stiffer ones to reduce compression rate from a Nissan 1800cc turbo engine,
same connecting rods dimensions except being 2,4mm wider in the crank side that as face machined to fit, forged
pistons 0,5mm oversize resulting in 1956cc final displacement, with a Garret T28 turbocharger this engine made over
250hp.
Project: Nissan 200sx s13 CA19DET Execution date: 2011-2012 (Costumer car)
Objective: Build a bullet proof engine capable of 500hp
Description: Fully blueprinted and calibrated engine, forged H-beam connecting rods and Wiseco pistons 0,5mm
oversized giving 1900cc, top mount Garret GT3071R turbocharger, inline turbo oil filter, Tial 44mm external
wastegate, custom extended baffled oil sump, Mocal 19 row oil cooler, Kevlar timing belt, titanium heat shield, launch
control.
Project: Toyota MR2 mk3 Execution date: 2012-2013 (Costumer car)
Objective: Improve performance for track usage
Description: Swap 1ZZ-FE 140hp factory engine for the 2ZZ-GE 192hp built by Toyota and Yamaha, custom made
aluminum engine mount and handmade stainless steel 4-1 exhaust manifold, Moroso extended sump, lighter
flywheel.
Project: Mazda 323 GTX B6T Execution date: 2016
Objective: Improve output power, 150 to over 200hp
Description: Engine fully blueprinted to STD spec´s with Mazda genuine parts and calibrated, upgraded IHI
turbocharger.
Project: Toyota MR2 mk3 GT300 Execution date: 2015-2016 (Costumer car)
Objective: Improve performance for extreme track usage over 250hp
Description: Swap 1ZZ-FE 140hp factory engine for the 2ZZ-GE 192hp built by Toyota and Yamaha, this engine as fully
blueprinted and calibrated, forged pistons and H-beam connecting rods, 12.3mm camshafts, Moroso extended sump,
titanium oil pump rotors, OS Giken clutch kit.
