• “Lunch at Simon Fraser University" The AnPgonish Review 2000. A poem of graPtude for the sustaining memory of childhood in the midst of an insPtuPonalized adulthood.
• "Poems Wriden on a Train" The White Wall Review 1998. A series of poems exploring the baffling presence and absence of the past in modern Japan.
• "A Red Wool Sweater" Paradigm Magazine 1994. A short story about the muted undercurrents of tension felt but not expressed during increasingly empty seasonal family gatherings.

• "One Thousand White Paper Cranes for Japan" (libredo) with Canadian composer Rita Ueda. Performed 2012-‐2015 in Halifax, Vancouver, Singapore and Toronto. A short opera in four parts depicPng a journalist's crisis of faith in her profession when confronted with the sensaPonal horrors of the 2011 earthquake and tsunami in Japan.
• "AbluPon" (poem/libredo) with American composer Philip Rice for the annual Art Song Lab, Vancouver Art Song InsPtute, performed June, 2011. A song about the longing for meaning amid the frenePc materialism of modern Tokyo.
