This product is a pyrethroid. If large amounts have been ingested, the stomach and intes-tines should be evacuated. Treatment is symptomatic and supportive. Digestible fats, oils,or alcohol may increase absorption and so should be avoided.

PRECAUTIONARY STATEMENTS Hazards to Humans and Domestic AnimalsCautionHarmful if swallowed. Causes moderate eye irritation. Harmful ifabsorbed through skin. Avoid contact with skin, eyes or clothing. Washthoroughly with soap and water after handling and before eating, drink-ing, chewing gum, using tobacco, or using the toilet. Prolonged or fre-quently repeated skin contact may cause allergic reactions in some indi-viduals.Personal Protective Equipment (PPE): Handlers who may beexposed to the concentrate through mixing, loading, application, orother tasks must wear: • Long-sleeved shirt and long pants• Waterproof gloves • Shoes plus socks Mixers/loaders and applicators must wear a NIOSH approved particu-late respirator with any R or P filter with NIOSH approval number prefixTC-84A; or a NIOSH approved powered air purifying respirator with anHE filter with NIOSH approval number prefix TC-21C. Repeated expo-sure to high concentrations of microbial proteins can cause allergic sen-sitization.Discard clothing and other absorbent materials that have beendrenched or heavily contaminated with this product’s concentrate. Donot reuse them. Follow the manufacturer’s instructions forcleaning/maintaining PPE. If no such instructions for washables, usedetergent and hot water. Keep and wash PPE separately from otherlaundry.

User Safety Recommendations:Users should:Remove PPE immediately after handling this product. Wash the out-side of gloves before removing.Wash hands before eating, drinking, chewing gum, using tobacco orusing the toilet. Remove clothing/PPE immediately if pesticide gets inside. Thenwash thoroughly and put on clean clothing.

Environmental HazardsThis pesticide is extremely toxic to fish and aquatic invertebrates. Usewith care when applying in areas adjacent to any body of water. Do notapply directly to water, to areas where surface water is present or tointertidal areas below the mean high water mark. Do not make applica-tions when weather conditions favor drift from treated areas. Drift andrunoff from treated areas may be hazardous to aquatic organisms inneighboring areas. Do not contaminate water when disposing of equip-ment washwaters. This product is highly toxic to bees exposed to direct treatment orresidues on blooming crops or weeds. Do not apply this product or allowit to drift to blooming crops or weeds while bees are foraging the treat-ment area.The use of bifenthrin is prohibited in areas that may result in exposureof endangered species to bifenthrin. Prior to use in a particular countycontact the local extension service for procedures and precautions touse to protect endangered species.DIRECTIONS FOR USERestricted Use Pesticide It is a violation of Federal law to use this product in a manner inconsis-tent with its labeling. Do not apply this product in a way that will contact workers or other per-sons, either directly or through drift. Only protected handlers may be inthe area during application. For any requirements specific to your Stateor Tribe, consult the agency responsible for pesticide regulation.

AGRICULTURAL USE REQUIREMENTSUse this product only in accordance with its labeling and with theWorker Protection Standard, 40 CFR part 170. This Standard con-tains requirements for the protection of agricultural workers on farms,forests, nurseries, and greenhouses, and handlers of agriculturalpesticides. It contains requirements for training, decontamination,notification, and emergency assistance. It also contains specificinstructions and exceptions pertaining to the statements on this labelabout personal protective equipment (PPE) and restricted-entryinterval. The requirements in this box only apply to uses of this prod-uct that are covered by the Worker Protection Standard. Do not enter or allow worker entry into treated areas during therestricted entry interval (REI) of 12 hours. Exception: If the product is soil-injected or soil incorporated, theWorker Protection Standard, under certain circumstances, allowsworkers to enter the treated area if there will be no contact with any-thing that has been treated.PPE required for early entry to treated areas that is permitted underthe Worker Protection Standard and that involves contact with any-thing that has been treated, such as plants, soil, or water, is:Coveralls, Waterproof gloves, and Shoes plus socks.

Chemigation Use Directions Apply this product only through sprinkler including center pivot, lateralmove, end tow, side (wheel) roll, traveler, big gun, solid set, drip irriga-tion, or hand move irrigation systems. Do not apply this product throughany other type of irrigation system. Do not connect an irrigation system(including greenhouse systems) used for pesticide application to a pub-lic water system. For LEPA irrigation a minimum of 0.75 inch of water per acre is recom-mended. Where non-emulsified oils are used as the diluents, 1 to 2pints per acre is recommended. Results from utilizing chemigation have been variable and depend uponthe set up and calibration of equipment. Crop injury, lack of effective-ness or illegal residues in the crop can result from non-uniform distribu-tion of treated water. Contact your State Agricultural Extension Servicespecialists, equipment manufacturers or other experts for consultationon the suitability of the equipment set up to obtain effective control ofthe target insect pests. A person knowledgeable of the chemigation system and responsible forits operation, or under the supervision of the responsible person, shallshut the system down and make necessary adjustments should theneed arise. Failure to cease application during a mechanical stoppagemay result in undesirable residues to adjacent areas. The system must contain a functional check valve, vacuum relief valve,and low pressure drain appropriately located on the irrigation pipeline toprevent water source contamination from backflow. The pesticide injection pipeline must contain a functional, automatic,quick-closing check valve to prevent the flow of fluid back toward theinjection pump. The pesticide injection pipeline must also contain a functional, normallyclosed, solenoid-operated valve located on the intake side of the injec-tion pump and connected to the system interlock to prevent fluid frombeing withdrawn from the supply tank when the irrigation system iseither automatically or manually shut down. The system must contain functional interlocking controls to automatical-ly shut off the pesticide injection pump when the water pump motorstops. The irrigation line or water pump must include a functional pressureswitch which will stop the water pump motor when the water pressuredecreases to the point where pesticide distributions is adversely affect-ed. Systems must use a metering pump, such as a positive displace-ment injection pump (e.g. diaphragm pump) effectively designed andconstructed of materials that are compatible with pesticides and capa-ble of being fitted with a system interlock. Do not apply when wind speed favors drift beyond the area intended fortreatment. Capture LFR Soil Insecticide should be applied continuouslyfor the duration of the water application. Capture LFR Soil Insecticideshould be diluted in sufficient volume to ensure accurate applicationover the area to be treated. When using chemigation, a minimum of 0.5inches per acre of irrigation water is recommended. Agitation generallyis not required when a suitable diluent is used. A diluent test should beconducted to ensure that phase separation will not occur during dilutionand application. Failure to achieve a uniform dilution throughout thetime of application may result in undesirable residues or less then desir-able control.Application and Mixing InstructionsShake well before using.Ethos XB Insecticide/Fungicide is an insecticide/fungicide that contains1.5 pounds of bifenthrin per gallon along with Bacillus amyloliquefaciensstrain D747 at a minimum of 1x 1010 colony-forming units (cfu) per milli-liter. Bacillus amyloliquefaciens strain D747 is a beneficial bacteriumused for control or suppression of fungal and bacterial plant diseases.Ethos XB Insecticide/Fungicide can be mixed directly with liquid fertiliz-er or with water. The rate of application is variable according to pestpressure, timing of treatments and field scouting. Use lower rates underlight to moderate pest infestations, and higher rates under heavier pestpressure. In arid climates applications rates are generally higher. Fill thetank one-half full with liquid fertilizer or water and begin spray tank agi-tation. Add the proper amount of Ethos XB Insecticide/Fungicide, andthen add the rest of the fertilizer or water. Maintain agitation until themixture has been applied.Agitate the Ethos XB Insecticide/Fungicide spray solutions in nursetanks prior to moving the solution to spray system.Cultivation within 10 feet of a water body is prohibited to allow for thegrowth of a vegetated filter strip. In New York State this product may not be applied within 100 feet (usingground equipment) to 300 feet (using aerial equipment) of coastalmarshes or streams that drain into coastal marshes.Ethos XB Insecticide/Fungicide can be applied in-furrow with the seed,as a T-band (band over the open furrow), as a broadcast application, asa band over the row or as a transplant-water drench during setting.Refer to the individual crop use directions for pest control or suppres-sion instructions.Ethos XB Insecticide/Fungicide can be mixed with commonly used liq-uid starter or pop-up fertilizers. Follow liquid fertilizer recommendationsregarding seed safety and use guidelines. Conduct a preliminary jar testusing the appropriate ratio of fertilizer and Ethos XBInsecticide/Fungicide. Do not allow a tank mixture to set overnight, butif this occurs agitate tank mixture prior to application.

When handlers use closed systems, enclosed cabs, or aircraft in a man-ner that meets requirements listed in the Worker Protection Standard(WPS) for agricultural pesticides (40 CFR 170.240(d)(4-6)), the handlerPPE requirements may be reduced or modified as specified in the WPS.

Resistance Management Some pests are known to develop resistance to pesticides that havebeen used repeatedly. While the development of pest resistance is wellunderstood, it is not easily predicted. Therefore pesticides should beused in conjunction with the resistance management strategies in thearea. Consult the local or State agricultural advisors for details. If pestresistance should develop in the area, this product used alone may notcontinue to provide sufficient levels of pest control. If the reduced levelsof control cannot be attributed to improper application techniques,improper use rates, improper application timing, unfavorable weatherconditions or abnormally high pest pressure, a resistant strain may havedeveloped.To reduce the potential for pesticide resistance use this product in arotation program with other classes of chemistry and modes of action.Always apply this product at the recommended rates and in accordancewith the use directions. Do not use less than recommended label ratesalone or in tank mixtures. Do not use reduced rates of the tank mix part-ner. For optimum performance, scout fields carefully and begin applica-tions when pests are smaller rather than larger. If resistance is suspect-ed, contact the local or State agricultural advisors.

Crop Rotation RestrictionsCrops for which bifenthrin tolerances exist may be rotated at any time.All other crops may be rotated 30 days following the final application ofbifenthrin.Tank-MixturesEthos XB Insecticide/Fungicide may be applied in tank mixtures withother products approved for use on registered crops. Observe allrestrictions and precautions which appear on the labels of these prod-ucts. To insure successful applications, product compatibility testsshould be conducted.Maximum Allowable Ethos Insecticide/Fungicide Use Per Acre Per Season Refer to the individual crop sections for maximum allowable Ethos XBInsecticide/Fungicide usage per acre per season. The maximum allow-able use must include all registered use patterns including at-plant, soilapplied and/or foliar applications for the 12 months period.
