It gives me great pleasure and immense satisfaction to invite you to partner

with CEE in organizing the5thConclave on Excellence in Education with the theme

“Education 2025: Students First”. The idea is to take it up as a challenging mission that is

necessary and vital for our youthful Nation for making students at various levels self-

confident, self-dependent and self-actualized by offering them specialized training modules

which will empower them in non-cognitive life skills so essentials for success in life.

We highly appreciate the focus, direction and efforts made by the present

government in the field of Educational Development at School and higher education level

and want to contribute our share by offering specialized services in the core domain of

imparting non-cognitive skills through integration with cognitive curricula and the

development of the same.

CEE has been very active in the field of promoting excellence in education by recognizing, nurturing and felicitating those teachers who by their devotion , hard work and innovation in curricula are contributing to 21st century career demands and rewarding them every year. About Confederation of Education Excellence Modern Education system is becoming more techno based where IT related activities are playing an important role in teaching different subjects from school level to university level. Each institution is competing with others to have latest techniques in their institution to attract more number of students. The young generation feels that material success in life can give them good living and happiness. Modern technology is hampering the creative thinking of students. In the current system rat race technology is replacing the place of the teachers. The honour and respect, which the educators were getting earlier, has been disappearing slowly. “Guru Sishya Parmpara” of Vedic age is not found in present education system, due to which Quality in Education is depleting and generating discontentment in the society. CEE being very active in the field of education, felicitate the values, hard and innovative work of teachers by appreciating and rewarding them every year. This year again CEE in association with Econs has planned a conclave on “EDUCATION 2025: STUDENT FIRST!” To make this function a big success we look forward for your cooperation, association and participation by making your valuable contribution in organising the conclave.

Concept of the Conclave:

The aim to move India’s Education System toward a school choice model that

bring affordable and quality education of choice to all children.

We need to provide a much needed platform to identify critical issues in the education

sector, review existing programs, explore strategies to face the challenges ahead and ideate

on ingenious solutions to provide quality education to all children in India.

The theme of the conference this year is “Education 2025: Student First!”

The children of the 21st Century have a different expectation and desire from

our education system than the generations that have preceded them. This is a generation

which is constantly seeking, thinking, formulating, exploring and challenging theirown views

and opinions. Ten years from now, these children will be in positions of power in diverse

sectors, dictating the direction of our country and economy.

We need a system that puts the child at the centre of education and facilitates the shift from

rote learning to student understanding. This requires us to constantly re -examine education

in terms of institutions, pedagogy and methodology.

We must break from our conventions and rethink the kind of teachers, the

curriculum and the kind of school leadership in effect–a rethinking of the school space.

These changes are not possible without structural changes at a policy level that will both

facilitate and reinforce them. The objectives of the Conference in 2017 are to:

Page 3: Respected Sir/Mam, Subject: Inviting Nomination for organising … · 2017. 3. 15. · Respected Sir/Mam, Subject: Inviting Nomination for organising Conclave on “Education 2025:

1. Bring together educationists and educational planners, policy experts, activists

and government officials to discuss and debate existing policies and share their

vision for what education should be in 2025.

2. Showcase innovative policy solutions–both national and international–that are

being implemented to address current challenges in the Indian education

ecosystem.

3. The National Conclave aims to explore this theme through expert presentations

and plenary discussions with leaders in the education space.

4. The three key sessions we have planned to host are:

Vision 2025: Changing the Paradigms of Education

The first session will explore the vision of education that leaders hold for the

future and ask the critical questions: Who should provide education? What kind of

education should we impart? How should we impart this education?

Representatives from civil society organisations and the government, along with

school leaders will examine whether today’s education system is equipped to meet

the growing aspirations of young India, how we can provide education with equity;

and the role of technology in classrooms of the future.

Practice 2025: Teaching for Understanding

What kind of pedagogy and infrastructure do we require to achieve Vision

2025? This session will focus on innovative developments and best practices in

education today in the areas of curriculum setting, methods for student assessments,

classroom innovations, teacher training, school financing models and alternative

methods of imparting education all of which will aid our movement towards this

vision.

Action Plan 2025: Rethinking Policy

Can the current education policy framework of India deliver on this vision?

This session will aim to understand the current policies that we have in place, their

implications for the education space and the gaps in the system, with emphasis on the

need to focus more on outcomes that inputs to education. Policy makers, researchers

and private school owners will deliberate on the reforms required to achieve Vision

2025.

We propose to invite young researchers and PhD students to submit research

papers relating to the themes outlined above. One of these papers will be selected for

presentation at the conference. This will be an opportunity for the student to
