Founded as the Odd Fellows Home of Connecticut, the same year that Ellis Island opened its doors, our 70 acres on the Thames River has provided security and peace-of-mind for many generations.

The first phase of 23 new homes at Thames Edge has

been well-planned to fulfill a maintenance-free and worry-free lifestyle. With spacious, one-level living, the master

bedroom and all other daily needs are on the first floor,

including an attached garage that provides complete

shelter from car to doorway. As part of the construction process, you will also have

the option to customize your home as desired to

best fit your exact tastes and specifications.

While you may never use the full continuum of care provided on campus, the

peace-of-mind that comes in knowing that such health care

services are available allows you to put your worries aside

Dottie McCutcheon, future resident of Thames Edge, likes to plan ahead. With her husband in an assisted living facility in Niantic, she likes to know that her needs will be taken care of at Thames Edge at Fairview.

Her children are happy with her decision and are not worried about her. It is a good feeling.

Winston and JoAnn Barrows, have more than a little incite into Thames Edge at Fairview. Not only do they know individuals who were in the nursing facility, but JoAnn has had physical therapy with one of the Fairview Rehabilitation therapists.

“Simply put, we feel starting a new life at Thames Edge at Fairview is a ‘smart move’ with its many options, great views, and the move will enable Winston to continue his passion — cooking,” says JoAnn.

Like many future residents, the Barrows like knowing their child will not have to do a thing!

John and Honore Feeney felt it was time for a lifestyle change. Their search led them to Thames Edge at Fairview which met all their expectations — they wanted a single family home; it is privately owned; and is renowned for its care.

Then...In the nineteenth century, the Connecticut Independent Order of Odd Fellows Grand Lodge had a vision for the future. That 1892 vision resulted in the creation of Fairview, Odd Fellows Home of Connecticut, as a non-profit home for seniors. At that time Connecticut had 15,000 Odd Fellows practicing the organization’s three principles of Friendship, Love and Truth.

... and NowToday, early in the twenty-first century, Fairview not only remains true to its original purpose, but has grown to include Fellowship Manor and Chelsea Cottage, both independent living residences; and Fairview, a skilled nursing facility with comprehensive post-acute care, rehabilitation services and long-term care.

A 16,000 square foot addition to the nursing care facility completed in early 2007, includes new, spacious resident rooms, an expanded therapy center, new resident lounges and a bistro café. The Odd Fellows

Fairview is expanding its independent living options with a new land development — Thames Edge at Fairview. Initially consisting of 23 homes, Thames Edge is an independent living buy–in community, which offers maintenance-free living and a continuum of care.

While membership in the Odd Fellows is no longer required for admission, the principles of Friendship, Love, and Truth still guide our mission.
