All the staff present were very proud of the way the students not only performed for a very large and supportive crowd, but also the way in which they rehearsed their items in the weeks leading up to this performance. The organising committee commented positively on the way the students performed and how well behaved they were. understand how to choose to live a healthy life. Please ensure your children are at school next week so they don’t miss this opportunity.

External ValidationOur school has been selected this year to participate in an external validation process. Each year, a group of schools are nominated to participate. This process provides schools with a valuable opportunity to discuss and reflect upon judgements about their practice – and the evidence that underpins them – with a panel of peers. In a few weeks our External Validation Team will submit seven detailed sets of evidence as part of the external validation process. Our panel meeting will be conducted in Week 8 (10 September) where we will have an opportunity to further share and highlight the significant growth and improvement our school has made in the domains of Learning along with Teaching and Leading, as articulated in the School Excellence Framework. Thank you to our extremely hard working and dedicated External Validation Team and all staff at Red Hill PS for their contribution to this process.

Stage 3 Camp – BeechworthThe Stage 3 Camp to Beechworth is only 3 weeks away. At this time there are still a large number of families who have not finalised payment for the camp. To ensure the camp is able to go ahead, we encourage all families to complete payment for the camp as we need to provide final numbers for our accommodation. This is a fabulous excursion and one the students will particularly enjoy as it links closely with their history unit.

Connected Classrooms ProgramWe are in the final stages of the project which involves improving the wifi around the school to support our use of laptops and other devices. The Department of Education has spent a considerable amount of money at Red Hill Public School upgrading the wifi and the improvements in certain parts of the school have been significant.

Open Classrooms Thank you to the many parents who took the opportunity to visit the school as part of our open classroom morning. The students were very excited to see their parents and enjoy the opportunity to share their learning with them.

Have a great week.Matthew Gray
