Significant integrity issues: large shed roof garage added to the side of the building which overwhelms the scale of the original hipped roof box house; original siding replaced with wider siding; porch added; storm windows. Due to alterations,
Listed in COMPASS as Cessario's and the Gaslight Inn restaurant. Needs maintenance. Integrity issues: 4/4 wood sash windows upstairs but replacement plate glass windows downstairs. Since last survey: part of sign has fallen off and one of the lamps framing the entrance has been removed.

A two-story, flat-roofed, brick addition has been added to the north side of the church since the last survey. The addition impacts the integrity of the church, but follows the Secretary of the Interior's Standards and is compatible with the original building. It is subordinate in size, blends with the original building, but is clearly of its own time.
NR Nomination lists construction date as 1890; COMPASS lists as built in 1877. 2015 Survey: No apparent alterations since last survey.
NR Nomination: There are two entries for 139 Main: C1-14 as the Belvidere Theater and C1-15 as the Beaman House/Alhambra Theater. HRC Update 1: Lists the Belvidere Theater at 139 Nevada. Notes that the resource has experienced major physical deterioration since 1986. Quotes Don Boring (owner): "theater is ready to collapse. The floors are pulling away from the walls, the major support beams are rotting, and water leaks through open
HRC Update 1: Cites significant alterations to the Lampshire House, including a "new, massive, three story addition on the east elevation which overwhelms the original historic structure." Because of the unsympathetic addition, HRC recommended a change in status to non-contributing. 2015 Survey: No apparent alterations since last survey.
Building currently occupied by State of Colorado Division of Gaming. No apparent alterations since last survey.
2015 Survey: No apparent alterations since last survey. No contributing due to construction after the district's period of significance.

No changes apparent since the previous survey.
2015 Survey: Since the last survey, window boxes have been removed and the trim repainted. The cabin in its current form appears to date from the 1930s-1950s. The construction date from the assessor records may be incorrect or the cabin may have been extensively altered. The large picture windows, scalloped trim, entry porch, and front door all appear to date from after the period of significance. The log siding also appears to be more of the
HRC Update 2: Notes that the front door has been replaced. Removal of non-historic front steps and landing improved the historical appearance since the 1986 survey. A brick shed to the southwest was removed. 2014 Survey: No apparent changes since last survey. "Fair" integrity rating due to the altered door which is not compatible in design.
COMPASS lists this as the Moody House and Coe #2 House. The construction date is listed in COMPASS as 1880, but a plaque on the building lists c.1898. HRC Update 3 notes newer paint on the exterior of the building and asphalt shingles on the roof which improve the building's condition from fair to good. 2014 Survey: "Fair" condition rating due to needed gutter and siding maintenance. "Fair" integrity due to alterations to siding. No apparent
2014 Survey: No apparent changes since last survey.
No alterations are apparent since the previous survey. "Fair" integrity rating due to lintels and sills that have been replaced or covered with aluminum, and a porch that has been replaced with an unsympathetic modern wood stoop. Owned by Central City Opera House Association.
HRC Update 3: Notes extensive rehabilitation. A 1994 addtion was constructed on the west side of the building. Building has been converted to rehersal space for the Central City Opera. 2015 Survey: Integrity issues: Building has been extensively altered, but retains its industrial character. Addition is large but compatible in design and materials, located to side of original building. Also appear to have been smaller alterations including doors,
"Fair" condition rating due to some deterioration to the building. "Poor" integrity rating is due to alterations, which include a new porch and railing, a side addition, and wider, non-original siding. Some windows have also been replaced. Due to these alterations, the building reads as if it was built circa mid-20th century rather than circa 1900. Non-contriburing due to loss of historic character.

Building has been converted to a private residence. Non-contributing since constructed after the period of significance.
2014 Survey: No change visible since previous survey. "Fair" condition due to roof needing work. "Fair" integrity due to window replacements.
Listed in 1986 survey simply as Block 37, Lots 9 and 10. HRC Update 2 lists the address as 240 E. 6th, and notes minor deterioration in the form of peeling paint. 2014 Survey: Assessor lists address as 234 E. 6th. No apparent changes since the previous survey. Owned by Central City Opera House Association.
No alterations apparent since the previous survey. "Fair" integrity rating due to the existence of replacement windows and a side addition.
2014 Survey: While the assessor records show that this resource was built in 1900, alterations have changed its integrity and made it appear much newer. Modifications include large wood shingles that cover the building, a large grouping of fixed windows on the north gable end, and a large side shed addition that extends beyond what appears to be the original footprint of the building. The building has lost its historic character.
2014 Survey: No apparent changes since the previous survey. "Fair" integrity rating is due to a rear addition connector between 230 Casey and 240 Casey. In Gilpin County assessor records, resources 230 Casey (5GL.7.193) and 240 Casey (5GL.7.195) are combined under one address (230 Casey).
2014 Survey: The front of this building has good integrity, but there appear to have been many alterations to the rear. An extensive rear addition was visible in the previous survey, but has been altered since that time with a rooftop deck and second story balcony. The house remains contributing since the façade remains intact.
Notes from Previous Surveys: HRC Update 2 noted that the building had deteriorated since the 1986 survey. Paint was peeling and the rolled paper roofing was showing cracks and holes. 2014 Survey: The building has received a new roof and replacement windows since the last survey.

"Poor" integrity and non-contributing status are due to extensive modifications that have been made to the original form of this building including large garage addition and non-historic chimney. Historic character has been lost and impossible to identify original building form.
2015 Survey: House retains good integrity. Only apparent alteration to windows: storm windows have been added. Windows may be replacements but are multi-light sash windows compatible with historic design.
2015 Survey: Difficult to survey since the house faces onto the hillside. Can only see façade from below. No apparent alterations since last survey.

According to assessor records, house constructed in 1900. House does not appear to have been included in NR nomination or HRC update. Unclear why it was excluded. 2015 Survey: House has been extensively altered and lost historic character. Appears that it may have originally been a massed plan, side gable house. Integrity issues: large, two story addition constructed on rear, side addition, new windows, replacement siding, altered porch.
No significant alterations since last survey. Integrity issues: shed-roof addition on the side (unclear if this was done during the district period of significance); siding replaced (looks like cement fiber board), door is modern but compatible in design
HRC Update 1: Noted that alteration or deterioration had occurred, but no details provided. 2014 Survey: Screen door and sidewalk removed since last survey. Integrity issues: picture window installed on façade.
2015 Survey: House has lost historic character; impossible to determine original form. Integrity issues include picture windows, modern deck, enclosed porch, and multiple additions. Non-contributing due to lack of integrity.
2015 Survey: Last use of the building appears to be as the Gregory Inn B&B. Currently advertised as for sale or lease and does not appear to be in use. No apparent alterations since last survey.
House constructed in 2000. Non-contributing since constructed outside of the period of significance.
NR Nomination lists address for this resource as "Upper Eureka Street." 2015 Survey: House is non-contributing due to construction date after the period of significance. Design is compatible with the district architecture, historically influenced but still clearly of its own time.
2014 Survey: Appearance much improved since last survey. Appears that faux brick aspahlt siding has been removed and replaced with horizontal wood siding. Integrity issues: security door, some additions/alterations have created an irregular roofline- unclear if alterations are historic.

2014 Survey: An extensive side addition with second cross-gable has been added since the last survey. "Poor" integrity rating is due to modifications including original windows replaced with picture windows, and an addition that makes the original form of the building hard to determine.
Integrity issues: house has lost historic character. Due to alterations, house appears more mid-20th century than early 20th century. House has been sheathed in asbestos shingle siding. The original windows have been replaced with aluminum-framed windows and the window surrounds have been altered. There is also a side addition constructed at an unknown date.
Integrity issues: replacement windows, window opening on gable end appears altered.
2015 Survey: Condition issues: bay windows needs repaiting, roof flashing needs repair. No apparent alterations since last survey.
2015 Survey: House is currently for sale and appears to be vacant. No apparent alterations since last survey. Appears that the building was originally a Gable Front dwelling with a later addition attached to the side. Fair integrity due to addition.
House owned by Central City Opera House Association. 2014 Survey: Integrity issues: dormer added, side deck, looks like front windows have been replaced, screens added
Previous survey noted this property as part of 355 Spring Street/ 5GL.7.300. However, this property has a separate parcel number and address, so it is being evaluated separately in this survey. Property owned by Central City Opera House Association.
Non-contributing since constructed outside of the district period of significance. Previous survey listed as contributing but this appears to be an error. NR Nomination listed as non-contributing.

2015 Survey: Since last survey asphalt shingle roofing replaced with a metal roof. Integrity issues: metal roofing, modern storm door.
2015 Survey: Integrity is poor due to replacement of horizontal wood siding with rolled asphalt siding designed to imitate brick. This alteration has had a significant impact on the historic character of the house. Recommended as non-contributing due to loss of integrity.
HRC Update 1 noted physical deterioration since the 1986 NPS survey with missing doors and windows allowing water damage to mar the interior of the building. The building has further deteriorated since the last survey. It is in very poor condition and appears to be on the verge of collapse. The building is so deteriorated that it is difficult to distinguish the original form of the building.
HRC Update 3 notes the addition of metal bars over all of the windows. 2015 Survey: No apparent alterations since last survey.
Many integrity issues: due to extensive alterations and additions difficult to distinguish the original form of the building. A two-story addition with a garage on the first floor and living space above fills much of the façade and overwhelms what appears to be the original building on the left. Original widnows have also been replaced. A porch and balcony have been added to the left side of the building since the last survey, with a window on the second
HRC Update 1: Noted replacement of rolled roofing paper with new wooden shingles. No apparent alterations since the last survey.
Integrity issues: a picture window has been installed on the front façade; a garage addition has been added at the rear. Since the last survey, the house has been repainted including the painting of a diamond pattern on the fishscale shingles on the projecting gable.

HRC Update1 recommends a change in status to non-contributing, noting that the building was in the process of being moved, and that a gable roof extension and mudroom had been removed. This building sits next to another moved building, 430 Gregory (5GL.7.171). 2015 Survey: Building is located on the edge of a bus parking lot. Windows are all boarded up.
Trim repainted since last survey.
Since last survey: windows replaced including installation of single-light picture window on façade; side addition. Integrity issues: the original siding has been replaced with wide, synthetic board siding that appears to have been installed in the mid-20th century. This has had a significant negative impact on the historic character of the building. The replacement of historic windows and alteration of the original window surrounds also has a significant impact on
2014 Survey: No apparent changes since the previous survey. "Fair" integrity rating is due to the replacement of several windows.
2014 Survey: This resource does not appear in either of the previous surveys. While the assessor records list this as c.1888, it appears as if it was built in the 1950s. Non-contributing since building does not have historic character- either extensively altered or built after the period of significnace.
House has lost historic character due to extensive alterations. Integrity issues include: addition of large side deck; replacement windows; large chimney added to front; additions to rear.
HRC Update1 recommends a change in status to non-contributing, noting that the building was in the process of being moved, and that the enclosed porch and south extension had been removed. This building sits next to another moved building, 420 Gregory (5GL.7.170). 2015 Survey: Building is located on the edge of a bus parking lot. Windows are all boarded up.
Building currently holds Gilpin Market restaurant and Heritage West Realty. Original layout of the building unclear. Two businesses currently have interior connection. Were the buildings originally connected or was this a later alteration? Integrity issues: concrete steps with metal railings, replacement doors, some window alterations (but generally sympathetic to historic design)

NOTES_SURVEY_HISTORY
House appears to have started as a hipped-box type and then expanded with a front gable addition. Addition appears to date within the district's period of significance. No apparent alterations since last survey.
The Bates Mine was established in 1859 and operated until the 1930s. The mine was reopened in the late 20th century. The Bates Hunter Mine complex includes a couple metal buildings and a steel headframe. Complex is non-contributing since buildings and structures were added after the district's period of significance.
Building currently houses Green Grass Alternative Medicine Dispensary. Building has undergone significant alterations since the last survey and lost its historic character. Alterations include addition of a bay window, alteration of the porch (new porch is more Rustic in style and less Victorian), new stairs, replacement windows, and enlarged window openings.
Has lost significant intergity since last survey with Victorian detailing removed from porch. Turned spindles replaced with plain wood posts and balustrade mining. Other integrity issues include replacement doors, side addition, and replacement of porch deck. Contributing status is borderline- house does retain Gabled Ell form and horizontal siding.
HRC Update 1: Cited significant alterations to the building, including new wood shiplap siding, new roofing, and aluminum windows as well as a new addition on the east side. Gingerbread eave trim had been removed. Integrity issues: extensive alteraions make it difficult to determine the original form. Building has lost its historic character.
Integrity issues: building has lost historic character due to multiple alterations including covering front gable section with stucco and alterations to the roof line (pop top). Historic form appears to have been significantly altered. Doors and windows are also replacements (though compatible in design).
NR Nomination: Listed as the Red Mill at 505 Gregory. HRC Update 1: Listed as 505 Lawrence (Red Mill), with a site number of 5GL.7.326. Listed alterations to this resource, including the removal of windows and doors, and water damage in the interior. No construction date listed in COMPASS or assessor database. 2014 Survey: No apparent alteration since last survey except for further deterioration. Building in very poor condition, propped up
This resource does not appear in the 1986 survey. HRC Update 1: Physical deterioration is noted. The windows have been boarded over and there are holes in the roof. 2015 Survey: The house has been restored since the last survey. Window openings have been uncovered and repaired, house has been painted, and new roof installed. House appears to be vacant.

According to assessor records, property has been classified as commercial. The adjacent one-story, frame, gabled building, constructed in 1890, was previously surveyed separately as 530 Gregory/ 5GL.7.321. However, this appears to be an outbuilding to 5GL.7.316 and according to

NR Nomination listed the memorial as contributing, however, the memorial was erected in 1959, outside of the district's period of significance. A second monument was added to the site in 2011.
School was constructed in 1875. School was demolished in 1930s. Foundation turned into a memoraial to Ida Kruse McFarlane who had been leader in efforts to restore the Opera House and establish the summer festivals. NR Nomination lists as contributing.
