Looking for a different way to honor your adventurous loved one’s journey to his or her final resting place? For those who were perhaps born to be wild, a Glory Ride® led by our Harley-Davidson® Road King can be a most fitting final journey. Built exclusively for Anderson-McQueen, this elegantly appointed coach is definitely a different way to go to the cemetery or crematory. Some have said it is the modern day “horse drawn hearse.”

Sunnyside Cemetery

With almost sixty years of local experience, we have intimate knowledge of each cemetery’s requirements and can assist you with any cemetery. As the owner of Sunnyside Cemetery, we offer the convenience and additional cost savings of coordinating everything at one time, at one place, and with the same professionals. Sunnyside is a blend of modern, well-maintained perpetual care cemetery with the appeal of a rustic, white rail fence community cemetery.

Horse Drawn Hearse

For a more classical conveyance, we are proud to offer the area’s only antique horse drawn hearse. Built in 1895 by Crane & Breed of Cincinnati, Ohio, the hearse was lovingly restored to its original classic elegance, and is often requested. We are proud to have invested in the construction of St. Petersburg’s only on-premise private crematory facility for your peace-of-mind. You can be assured that every detail is handled with the highest standards of care by our professional staff.

Unlike other funeral homes, our crematory is on the premise of our Tyrone Chapel in St. Petersburg. This assures that your loved one stays under our professional care and responsibility at all times, and has not been transferred to some multi-user facility, sometimes in another county. “Chain of Custody” is vitally important when dealing with cremation.

Given the mobile society in which we live today, it is not uncommon for families to relocate to other parts of the country. When doing so, more and more families decide to disinter their loved ones and move the cremated remains to the new area in which they live.

Therefore, most cemeteries now require the use of an urn vault for interment of cremated remains. The urn vault not only prevents the grave from sinking in but also ensures the cemetery can locate the cremated remains should a family decide to relocate them.

In most areas of the country, state or local law does not require that you buy a container to surround the urn in the grave. However, many cemeteries

require that you have such a container so that the grave will not sink in. Either a grave liner or burial vault will satisfy

these requirements.

The goods and services shown below are those we can provide to our customers. You may choose only the items you desire. However, any funeral arrangements you select will include a charge for our basic services and overhead. If legal or other requirements mean you must buy any items you did not specifically ask for, we will explain the reason in writing on the statement we provide describing the funeral goods and services you selected.

Basic Services of Funeral Director and Staff $2,695 Our fee for the basic services of funeral director and staff includes, but is not limited to, staff to respond to initial request for service; shelter of remains; arrangement conference with family and responsible parties; arrangement of funeral; preparation and filing of necessary authorizations and permits; recording vital statistics; preparation and placement of obituary notice; and coordination with those providing other portions of the funeral, e.g., cemetery, crematory, vault companies and others as required. Also included in this charge are overhead expenses, parking lot and grounds maintenance, taxes, equipment, furnishings, inventory costs, record-keeping, and secretarial and administrative expenses. This fee for our basic services and overhead will be added to the total cost of the funeral arrangements you select. PREPARATION OF THE REMAINS: Embalming $ 995 Except in certain special cases, embalming is not required by law. Embalming may be necessary, however, if you select certain funeral arrangements, such as a funeral with viewing. All pet cremations include complimentary transfer from your local veterinary office to our facility; individual pet cremation within 72 hours; complimentary cherry veneer wood urn; cremation certificate; and complimentary use of our Rainbow Bridge Room, if desired. With any cremation (pet or people), chain of custody is of utmost importance to families. Therefore, through the use of our exclusive SecureCare™ Tracking System, we provide families with the greatest peace of mind available.

When choosing a pet cremation provider, here are four (4) important questions you should ask before you make your final choice:

1. Who Owns the Crematory? Many providers advertise cremation services but they subcontract those services to a third party. 2. Where is the Crematory Located? Many providers do not have a local crematory. In fact, several Tampa Bay area providers

are actually located several counties away and only come to the area once a week. We offer daily transfers, within hours of the death, and our pet crematory is located on our property adjacent to our Cremation Tribute Center at 7820-38th Avenue North in St. Petersburg, FL.

3. When Can I Inspect It? Most providers do not want you inspecting their facilities. We welcome it. We’re available 7 days a week.

4. Do you Cremate More Than 1 Pet at a Time? Many providers call their cremation services “individual” or “private”, yet they place more than one pet in the machine at the same time in trays or separated by bricks. We do not. At Anderson-McQueen, we believe all family members deserve the same dignified services. Therefore, we only cremate one pet at a time ensuring you receive only your pet’s cremated remains.

As pet parents ourselves, Anderson-McQueen is proud to have been one of the first funeral homes in the United States and the first in the Tampa Bay area to recognize that “pets are part of the family too” by offering pet cremation services. Over the years, many families have asked us if we could provide cremation services when their beloved pet died. Therefore, in 2006, we became the first funeral home in the Tampa Bay area to begin serving the entire family.
