What’s Happening?? It’s all about energy.
String vibrates Gradually loses energy
The plates begin to vibrate and produce a strong sound which is what we hear.
The plates are vibrating in many modes at the same time.
As the string loses energy, it stops supplying energy to the plates.
The sound from the plates decrease with time as they run out of energy. Each mode has a different rate of energy loss.
Performer has some control.
