STREET NAMES FOR MABOPANE-S The Township Mabopane-S which falls in both your wards was proclaimed on 6 December 2002. People are already residing in this township. None of the streets in this township have been given names yet. Requests with regards to the street names have been sent to you on 8 May 2006 as well as on 7 November 2006. We kindly request that an item regarding street names for Mabopane-S be added as a first item to the agenda of your next Ward Committee meeting and the following people should be invited:
• An official of the Toponymy Sub Section • The Chairperson of the Public Place and Street Names Committee
Invitation to the Ward Committee meeting must reach our offices at least ten working days before the scheduled meeting in order to arrange for the attendance of the Chairperson. You are also requested to arrange for community participation after the Ward Committee meeting to get the inputs of the community on naming the street. You are requested to put the street names item be the first item on your agenda. The following people should be invited to community participation meeting:
• The members of your community • The members of the Public Place and Street Names Committee
Invitation to the community participation meeting must reach our offices at least ten working days before the scheduled meeting in order to arrange for the attendance of the Chairperson and members of the Public Place and Street Names Committee. Please forward all invitations to [email protected] A map indicating the 53 streets for which names are needed is attached to this letter. Please supply us with 20 additional names as well. The following documents must be sent to Room 1020, Munitoria within five working days after the meetings:
1. List of proposed street names (included with this letter as Annexure A) 2. Confirmation that the Ward Committee and community participation meetings took place (Annexure B) 3. Attendance registers of the meetings (Ward Committee and community participation meetings) 4. Minutes of the meetings (Ward Committee and community participation meetings)
