IntroductionResMarker Connect is an interactive point-of-booking application that identifies pre-specified text on an agents GDS screen and displays attention grabbing sticky notes, displays highlighted text, plays sound files, and more. You can use screen highlights to emphasize important information you want your agents to see, such as reminders to offer customers specific vendor contracts or reminders of traveler preferences.

How Does ResMarker Connect Work?At the core of ResMarker Connect are simple-to-program rules.

Each rule defines a set of conditions, including what to look for on the GDS screen. A rule designed to remind an agent of a British Airways contract in the New York – London market will look for the text string “JFKLHR” anywhere on a line and “BA” at the beginning of the same line.

Rules also include a set of actions to take if the conditions are met. In our example the city pair “JFKLHR” will be highlighted and a sticky note displayed with information about the preferred vendor contract.

All this configuration is centrally controlled using the ResMarker Connect Workspace Travet®. It is here where you add, edit, copy and change rules. The Travet has many interesting and useful features that make setup and maintenance a breeze. You can view information in a more traditional, list format, or in a newly designed boxes view that groups items with the same characteristics. There is a simple Search function that can help you find what you are looking for. Best of all, the boxes view give you drag and drop capability, allowing you to move things around quickly and efficiently, without having to navigate through the editor, although you can easily do that too.

ResMarker Connect ActionsResMarker Connect has many useful actions in addition to Highlight and ‘Sticky Note’ as illustrated above. Here is a complete list. HIGHLIGHT The Search text that you specified on the conditions page can be marked up by changing the text color and/ or background color.

STICKY NOTEYou can display a message to the agent. You can control where on the screen, and how long, the message will appear. You can also use one or more of your variables to dynamically build the message text.

DOCUMENT This action gives you the ability to open a document or web page on the agent’s desk.

EMAILThis action will trigger the agent’s default email client to open and populate all of the fields that you fill in. You can use variables to be more dynamic.

SOUNDAs an added alert, you can choose one of the preloaded sounds to play for your agent when the conditions are met.

MACROHere you can specify GDS commands or keystrokes that you would like ResMarker Connect to automatically send to the GDS.

Additional ResMarker CapabilitiesResMarker Connect offers many advanced capabilities to help you be more precise in your use of the tool, including:

EXPERIENCE LEVELEach rule also has an Experience Level that corresponds to your agents’ Experience Level.Rules that are set for beginners will only operate for agents that are listed as beginners.

TASKSTasks provide a method to group rules that are more specific to a particular job responsibility, department or other ways that are relevant to your business practices.

VARIABLESVariables can be used to carry data from one rule to another. Without them, ResMarker has no memory of what was found in a previous response.

REGULAR EXPRESSIONSRegular Expressions are used within your rule Search Text and Condition Text to give you a way to match patterns instead of explicitly defining all text matches.

TABLESTables can be used when your rule needs to be a bit more specific, or if the data changes often.
