Thursday 28 th May Welcome Backkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkk !!! As you know, our Grade Prep, One, Two students are back and very happy. They’re learning lots and having lots of fun reconnecting too! Our staff are also super excited to see the children. Everyone is walking around with very big smiles on their faces. The children have slipped back to their routines beautifully. One more week to go and then we will all back to our “West Best”, with everyone at school. We can barely wait. Grade 3,4,5 & 6 Students – All students back on Tuesday, June 9th We have many of our Grade 3,4,5 & 6 students here at present but the majority are still at home learning online. Our teachers are doing a great job of catering for both groups of children. Students engage in the same learning. Throughout the last 7 weeks we have been absolutely thrilled to have most children engaging online with their classroom teacher and fellow students. It’s not long to go now, but it is still very, very important for our students to continue to learn, each day. If your child is still learning remotely, please support him/her to jump online each day. Resilience Respect Excellence Pride 2021 Prep enrolments Do you have a child coming to school next year? Please, Please respect the MWPS COVID-19 Return to School Plan (placed on Compass) Mildura West is committed to providing a safe learning and working environment for our students and staff. We ask the whole school community to follow this plan to enable us to provide the safest possible environment during this time. We all have a role to play in stopping the spread of COVID-19 in Victoria. Unfortunately many of our community are not following these requests. This is a safety concern and not in line with the Education Department guidelines. Some district schools have implemented extremely strict rules around adults visiting the school grounds but we are relying on our parents/carers to make good choices. Consequently, we have not set down such tight expectations. If the current plan is not adhered to, then we will have to enforce tighter guidelines. Please remember this is for our safety. The following extract is from the attached, MWPS COVID-19 Return to School Plan and must be followed: We ask staff and parents/carers to observe physical distancing measures by not congregating in areas inside or around the school (including the school car park, seating areas etc.). To minimize interaction of students and adults within the school and at entry points, everyone will enter and exit through the gates identified with the signs- ENTRY, EXIT. Parents/carers of Grade Prep, One and Two children may need to bring their child to the classroom if he/she is anxious. However, they are encouraged to limit the time spent in the class/school. Parents/carers of Grade Three, Four, Five and Six are discouraged from entering the school grounds unless absolutely necessary. School starts at the same time, 9.00. Parents/carers can drop children off between 8.30 - 9.00. Students in Grade Prep, One & Two finish school at 3.00. Their siblings will finish at this time too. Students in Grade Three, Four, Five and Six finish school at the normal time - 3.15 All persons who need to come to the school office, will line up outside the office, on the designated waiting area. People enter the office through the main doors labelled ENTER and EXIT through the back or side door, labelled EXIT

Our new building – is ready! We are very excited to have our gorgeous new building ready for occupation. It looks fantastic! The next stage of this work is a renovation of our Grade 5 & 6 building. This building will hopefully be ready to move back into in the middle of third term. Our Grade 5 students will be moving into the 2 spare rooms and our Grade 6 students into the new building. Once the Grade 5/6 renovations are complete, all students will move back into their snappy new home!!

Our new building is now complete and ready for our students
