GARBAGE & RUBBISH SERVICE Household trash is picked up on Tuesdays Eastern Zone and Wednesdays Western Zone. Put trash in sturdy plastic bags, securely tied, no heavier than 50 lbs., and put it at curbside before 7 am. Please do not place your trash, yard waste or recyclables out before 4 pm on the day before trash pickup. Bulky items: Collected each week along with your regular trash. Includes such items as mattresses, box springs, rolls of carpet (rolled, tied and cut in 4-5 ft. lengths), water softeners, furniture and large appliances. Refrigerants: Items containing Freon (refrigerators, freezers, air conditioners, dehumidifiers) must have a tag attached verifying that the Freon has been removed by a certified technician. Excluded: Stevens Disposal & Recycling Services cannot take construction or demolition material, large machinery, fencing, motor vehicles, auto parts or hazardous waste. To save space, flatten boxes and crush cans and plastic when possible.

WHAT & HOW TO RECYCLE Household recycling pickup is provided weekly on your regular trash pickup day. Please check the map (at right) to see which is your zone. All of your recyclables end up at an approved recycling facility where they are sorted and shipped out for reuse. Put all recyclable paper together in recycle bin, on top of recycle bin, in a paper bag, or tied in a bundle. Put all recyclable items together in recycle bin. Please put your bins out before 7 am. Recycle bins are available FREE of charge and may be picked up at Tecumseh City Hall during regular business hours.
