An applicant must:

- be of independent means as no work permit is linked for the first 5 years- show possession of funds ranging between EUR 30,000 and EUR 50,000 per year (depends on family size)- have a permanent accomodation in Austria and pay medical insurance- dispose of German A1 and A2 level or have a University degree accredited in Austria- dispose of German on B1 level (for the permanent RP-EC application after 5 years)
