Day 3: Caesarea, Megiddo &Nazareth (February 23)After breakfast, we travel by private motorcoach along the coast of the MediterraneanSea to Caesarea, where Gentiles first heardthe Good News from Peter and were bap-tized. We’ll see the Roman Amphitheatre, hippodrome, a film on history and theremains of this famous port city, and aque-duct, and then journey on to Mt. Carmel, where Elijah challenged King Ahab and theprophets of Baal. Next we travel through theJezreel Valley to Megiddo, the ArmageddonBattlefield, where archaeologists haveunearthed 20 levels of civilization. We drivethrough the area of Cana and Nazareth, the

boyhood home of Jesus, where we visit theNazareth Village - a wonderful recreation ofBiblical times with costumed guides. We willhave dinner and overnight lodging for thenext two nights in the Tiberias area on theSea of Galilee.

Day 4: Capernaum, Dan, CaesareaPhilippi & Mount of Beatitudes(February 24)Following breakfast, our morning travels takeus to two valuable northern sites. Dan iswhere the children of Israel fell to the depthsof pagan worship and Caesarea Philippi, thesite of Peter’s Confession. In Capernaum wewill visit the ruins of an ancient synagogueand Peter’s home. Then we travel on to thepossible site of the multiplication of loavesand fishes in Bethsaida and the Mount of theBeatitudes overlooking the Sea. After viewingthe ancient Fisherman Boat at an operatingKibbutz, we enjoy a relaxing cruise on theSea of Galilee. A brief scripture reading anddevotional on board brings to life the experi-ences of Jesus and the fishermen disciplesconcluding a wonderful day.

Day 5: Jordan River Baptism Sites,Beth Shean, Bethany & Dead Sea(February 25)We begin our day with an opportunity to bebaptized at the Jordan River Baptismal site.Next we travel southward to Beit-Shean/Scythopolis, the most magnificentarcheological site in Israel, located at thestrategic juncture of the Jezreel and Jordan

valleys. Like Jericho, it has been almost con-tinuously occupied throughout history. Afterdefeating Saul and his sons on Mt. Gilboa, the Philistines hanged their bodies on thewalls of Beit-Shean. During the time of Jesus,Scythopolis was one of the chief cities of theDecapolis - a league of ten cities sharingGreek culture and government. Following thefertile Jordan Valley southward, your guidewill point out the agricultural restoration of the“Land of Milk and Honey” and Israel’s intri-cate irrigation development. We pass ancientJericho, view from a distance this city famedas the oldest in the world, before coming tothe Jordan River (Queser El Yehud) theIsraeli side of Bethany Beyond the Jordan, the place where Jesus was baptized by Johnthe Baptist, where Elijah and Elisha crossedthe Jordan as well as the area where the chil-dren of Israel led by Joshua entered thePromised land. Our lodging for the evening isat the Dead Sea – the lowest place on earth.Spend time in the special spa and enjoy a dipin the Dead Sea for a relaxing float beforedinner.

Day 6: Masada, Ein Gedi, Dead SeaScrolls, Abraham's Tent (February 26)Our day begins with a cable car ride to themountain top fortress of Masada. Here ourguide will treat us to the history of the famouszealot stand. Afterwards we proceed to EinGedi, "Spring of the Goat", an oasis on thewestern shore of the Dead Sea. Because ofits warm climate and abundant supply of

water, the site developed a reputation for itsfragrant plants and date palm groves. This iswhere King David hid from Saul, and whereGod defeated the enemies of the Israelites bypraise and worship led by King Jehoshaphat.Next, we visit Qumran Caves where the DeadSea Scrolls were discovered. This afternoonwe will take part in the Genesis Land/Dinnerin Abraham's Tent, where we enjoy a tripback in time: a reliving of life in the time of thePatriarchs, complete with costume, dramaticpresentation, camel ride and authentic food. Our lodging for the next four nights will be inJerusalem.

Day 7: Around Jerusalem, BibleTimes, Holocaust Museum(February 27)Conditions permitting we will visit the TempleMount, with commentary on the TemplePeriods, and the variety of belief systemspast and present that make this area so valu-able. From here we will also be able to seethe Pool of Bethesda, Stephen's Gate and St.Ann’s Church. Passing by the ProtestantCemetery, we visit the "Upper Room" just out-side the Zion Gate where the disciple whomJesus loved laid his head on His breast andwhere later Thomas cried, "my Lord & myGod." An interesting and educational timeawaits us at the Israeli Museum. Walkthrough collections of centuries-old Israeli arti-facts including the Dead Sea Scrolls, and athen a guided walk through an accuratelydetailed model of Biblical Jerusalem will helpto prepare you for what you will experience inthe following days. We conclude the day witha visit to Yad Vashem, the HolocaustMuseum, for a needed reminder of what theJews have suffered as a people.

Day 8: Jesus' Steps, the Last Days(February 28)Today we walk where Jesus walked, begin-ning the day with a panoramic view of thecity, Mount Moriah and the Dome of the Rock

from atop the Mount of Olives and then theGarden of Gethsemane. How many havewished to be whisked back in time to get aglimpse of our Lord or hear His voice if onlyfor a moment? To walk between the ancientolive trees, read the scriptures of Jesus'prayer and take time for personal reflection isimportant here. Next we visit the House ofCaiaphas where Jesus was beaten and spitupon. See a pit where he may have beenheld for the evening and the ancient hillsidesteps he walked as he was taken to be con-demned. On our way into the city we will visitthe Wailing Wall and then the fascinatingRabbinical Tunnels leading us through theSecond Temple era. The tunnel and exhibitgive a clear understanding of the amazingconstruction of the Temple Mount, giantstones, water supply and Roman streetwhere our Lord was led to judgment. Beforeexiting the tunnel we see the immense cor-nerstone rejected by the builders. We moveon to the Judgment Hall of Pilate, hear ofthose who conspired against Him and arereminded of His brutal beating and humilia-tion.

Day 9: Way of Suffering, GardenTomb, Pentecost, Bethlehem(March 1)While walking along the Via Dolorosa, we arereminded of His way of suffering along with avisit to the Church of the Holy Sepulcher. Our guide will explain the differing opinionson the route that Christ was led. The actualplace of crucifixion and burial is a very inter-esting study. Our climax of the day is the areaof Golgotha (place of the skull) and theGarden Tomb, where we celebrate the resur-rection with communion and a time of praise. This afternoon we visit the Southern WallExcavations. This southern side of TheTemple was the main entrance for the com-mon folk, whereas the Priests and Leviteshad their own entrance from the higher east-ern side. Parts of the giant stairs, which led to

the Temple Mount from the courtyard havebeen unearthed along with the purificationpools. From here Jesus entered the TempleMount and drove out the vendors and moneyexchangers who were exploiting the people. Itis also likely that this is the place that Peterstood and preached and where thousandswere saved and baptized on the Day ofPentecost. We will enjoy a challenge fromGod’s Word and a song before an optionaltime this afternoon. Those who wish maystay in the city marketplace for shopping, while others may choose to spend theremainder of the day surrounding the birth ofChrist, with a visit to Bethlehem.

Day 10: Depart for Home (March 2)A morning departure for the Tel Aviv Airportfor our flight homeward will allow for arrivalhome by early afternoon.
