The history of Micran started more than 20 years ago. Since that time the company has grown from an 8 people team to one of the Russian leading manufacturer of radio electronics equipment.

Today our company's facilities covers more than 28000 square meters and employs more than 1500 people.

The most competitive advantage of Micran is a complete production cycle with in-house development and production, from SHF electronic components base to serial production. It allows us to respond quickly to the market demands and to implement new innovative products. It also gives us an opportunity to control the technology development and implement it in serial pro-duction as well as to monitor the products quality.

Our company focuses on producing tele-communication equipment, microwave test and measurement equipment, radars for navigation and security, and MMIC design and manufacturing.

The company has more than 1000 custom-ers in Russia and all over the world.

More than 30% of Micran employees are professional developers who work on new innovative solutions in the field of radio electronics.

Micran's research and production complex "Microelectronics" develops and manufac-tures wide range of GaN and GaAs micro-wave monolithic integrated circuits (MIC), discrete transistors and diodes.

There are five stable GaAs processes developed and implemented: 0.5um Switch pHemt, 0.25um power pHemt, Schottky bar-rier diode, zero bias diode, pin diode.

Currently our company is developing GaN MIC technology. The main reason for having an in-house process line is to ensure an independence of the company in terms of solid-state electronic components. It provides the company with a full cycle of MIC production: heterostructures design, development of technological processes, MIC design, MIC production, microwave and reliability testing.

The Design Centre of the company devel-ops microwave MIC in the frequency range of 1 to 100 GHz, based on proprietary mod-els of active and passive elements.

The company is currently developing the technology process for production of GaAs microwave monolithic integrated circuits based on 0.1um and 0.07um pHemt pro-cesses, which are intended for applications with frequencies of up to 300 GHz.

Solid-state microwave electronics is one of the priority areas, where Micran traditional-ly has the best competency and experience, developing and producing a wide range of monofunctional and multifunctional micro-wave units and modules in monolithic and hybrid-monolithic form.

The company has mastered the technology of engineering and mass production of the transmit-receive modules, based on compa-ny’s own electronic components, designed for active phased array antennas.

Our company develops and manufactures microwave modules of L, S, C, X bands for ground, airborne and space-based radar stations.

Multitude of complex devices for microwave electronics takes a worthy place in develop-ment history of Micran: retransmit-receive and transmit-define modules for radar stations, as well as radars for river and sea safety navigation and other purposes.

A plethora of other microwave devices have also been developed and manufactured: broadband and low-noise amplifiers, power amplifiers, oscillators, mixers, converters, attenuators, filters and diplexers.

Quality of our products is provided by the technological full cycle of development, manufacturing, testing and verification.

Game is not over yet for microwave PtP in mobile operator’s network. Network configuration changes quickly, sometimes intentionally, sometimes unexpectedly. Introduction of higher frequencies for 3G and LTE plus lower system gain lead to more dense site locations. Fiber can not be so flexible, and can not be everywhere. Sometimes it is impossible to construct fiber line at all. So still more than 50% of all new sites are connected via microwave.

One of the company's achievements in the field of radars is a navigation radar “Reka”, developed specially for river vessels.

Innovations are hiding in every detail of the radar: solid-state TR-module, digital signal processing on board, Ethernet data ex-change interface, touchscreen.

Due to broadband solid-state TR-module the radar can detect and identify with high accuracy even small objects (people, ice floe, buoy, etc.), and, more importantly, in various weather conditions (rain, fog or snow).

Technical solutions implemented in the radar comply with international requirements.

Based upon Micran experience and knowl-edge in area of radar equipment we have developed a set of radar sensors with var-ious operating frequency ranges (X-band, K-band, Ka-band) with expanded scopes of application. These systems may be used to upgrade surveillance systems, including pe-rimeter intrusion detection systems, critical infrastructure security, counter-terrorism and crime-prevention systems.

MRS series Radars provide primary scan-ning area using RF, automatic targets de-tection and tracking using its own resourc-es as well as by controlling cameras and other security sensors.

Joint use of optical and radar sensors can significantly reduce the time of area survey and increase the probability of correct de-tection of the intrusion. Coordinate infor-mation from the radar site and link to the maps allows you to define areas for protec-tion, prioritize, and operate under different scenarios.

Radar MRS-1000 and MRS-3000 is de-signed to control extent territories, water surfaces, borders.

MRS-2000 - ultralight E-scan radar de-signed to solve the problems of improving the safety of railway crossings, railway tracks near the crowds, and for traffic con-trol systems "Smart city."

Micran constantly expands and improves the devices functional capabilities by hard-ware innovations, as well as by software upgrades. Using Micran MW modules the company developed automated measuring systems. Its intended for the automated configuration and testing of microwave

devices and systems of different purposes in communications, aerospace and defense markets. For example, the software and hardware systems for measuring S-pa-rameters of the transmit/receive modules (TRM), measurements on the plate, an-tenna measurements. The system of the multi-channel loading and monitoring of the board data-relay control and guiding of spacecrafts <Luch-5A> and <Luch-5B> has already been developed and delivered to the customer.

For each system type the company devel-ops specialized software which is respon-sible for selecting measured value and easy data analysis, reporting and protocols based on measurement results.

In 2015, Micran started to produce a series of portable measuring devices - Portable Lab Devices (PLD), whose power and con-trol are carried out through USB- interface. With small overall dimensions PLDs have the completed set of full-sized laboratory devices.

Micran designs and produces a wide range of passive microwave devices that are used in signal transmission lines and measure-ment applications.

Our company has full cycle of accessories production. We produce all the mechanical parts, hybrid microcircuits, diodes, and microelectronic circuits. All the assembly processes are carried out by the compa-ny specialists. The finished product goes through 100% outgoing inspection with modern metrology equipment.

All accessories provide high parameters in the frequency range up to 50 GHz: mating cycles, insertion loss, SWR. Accessories are available for both metric and inch connec-tors types.

Microwave elements and devices of Micran are ideal for radar and satellite measure-ments, wireless communication and various works, connected with the development, testing and production of microwave devic-es. Sets and kits of various microwave el-ements are formed to solve calibration and

verification problems. If necessary, these kits can be equipped with the information carrier with each kit element parameters.

The Micran team works on the expansion of the model range, the improvement of parameters and reliability characteristics of microwave elements due to the introduction of new technology at all stages of develop-ment and production.

Micran conducts its business not only at the national Russian market. Our interna-tional interests are high and expanding. Today we supply our products to 50 coun-tries of the world and our sales geography grows every year.

In 2014 Micran opened its Italian subsidiary - Youncta, and that enabled the company to establish supplies to the European market. Along with Italian specialists the company is developing and producing telecommuni-cation equipment. High-speed radio-relay links allowing to transmit the information at a speed of 840 Mb/s have already been developed in cooperation with Italian staff.

In 2016 Micran intends to double the link speed up to nearly 2 Gb/s on the basis of a flexible platform.

Micran has sales offices in Singapore, Viet-nam, South Africa, and carries out promo-tional activities in Middle-East and CIS.
