Social Media Strategy
When creating each social media account, I needed to start with
a purpose in doing so and what would be the benefits I hope to
achieve from doing it via the social media strategy.
My plan of action is to over the next few weeks, is to collect
all of my top work from the past 5 years (in which I’ve been
working in photography). I will then place these images in a folder
that I will title social media and gradually throughout each week I
will set myself a target and goal to post at least 3 images per
week. From posting these images on the different platforms, I hope
to receive both some positive feedback and some criticism to help
me in the future, reach even further goals and to constantly
improve on my photographic work.
In order to make sure I was using the best strategies and
platforms, I did some research on what sites worked best for
sharing work. Instagram in particular is a relatively new arising
platform but is based only on images and from previous work, I’ve
managed to get my work noticed from popular photographers and
brands, one including super dry.
Through the likes of Instagram and Facebook, twitter etc., I
will be able to share my work and website across these platforms
and get my friends to share too which invites new people I may not
know to look at my work. In some ways it can be seen as word of
mouth, but in these context, it will be word of the internet. Not
always will word of mouth work, but it is a much underestimated
technique and still works well.

Superdry also tweeted in response to mine and the models tweet
saying that we were very pleased with Superdry using my shot for
their site and this was their response back via twitter:

photographers and models and designers which I was very pleased
with receiving.

A fashion’ Artreprenuer’ – His profile contains a lot of Art and
fashionable clothing designed by himself. I also found it inspiring
that not just photographers have been commenting on my work too,
but designers as well.

As well as Instagram I also had one of my photos put up on
Facebook which I had a few Reponses too. The model I shot with
asked first for my permission to have it as her profile picture
which I was really pleased with as by asking this she was
complementing my work and achievements. I also as from a
professional point of view asked her to credit my work so no one
else could say it is theirs , there is also ways such as
watermarking too which we can use too.
Responses to the photograph
I will continue to collect the evidence of feedback and use it
as an opportunity to progress further into my career. I will also
take in these comments and take them forward into the new work I
create.
Through engaging in the activities and communicating through
social media, I hope to build up possible contacts and get my name
out there.
I will continuously do this throughout the project and see what
possible outcomes I gain.
