Title: Research Coordinator Reporting Structure: The Research Coordinator reports to the Manager - Sport for Development Projects Summary of Position: To coordinate a specific multi-country research project that examines the contributions of ASOP Caribbean SDP projects to health, education, social inclusion, disability and gender. Duties & Responsibilities
Specific Duties:
To manage the overall research and individual research project budgets
To manage the Grant Compliance Process ensuring accuracy
To develop Terms of Reference (TOR’s) for individual research grants
To select, recruit and manage research partners and project deliverables
To act as the primary liaison for the research committee, research partners, other
research organizations, funding agencies and regulating bodies
To develop standardised contracts
To manage research committee and monitor the progress of research activities; develop
and maintain records of research activities, and prepares periodic reports, as required
To coordinate training and development activities
To develop strong working relationships with partners, stakeholders, etc.
To ensure that projects are executed successfully and completed within time frames to
meet research objectives
To assign and review research-related work and tasks given to research assistants
To undertake any other duties which may reasonably be regarded as within the nature of the duties and responsibilities of the post as defined, subject to the provision that normally any changes of a permanent nature shall be incorporated into the Job Description in specific terms

Criteria/Person Specification Qualities Essential Desirable
Qualifications / Training
Bachelor’s Degree related to research Bachelor's degree, with master's degree preferred; supplemented with two (2) years of related work experience.
Knowledge and Experience
Knowledge of the principles of research design
Experience in managing primary research projects
Volunteerism
Experience in research grant administration and coordination experience.
Skills Proven ability managing research grants and projects
Written and verbal communication skills
Interpersonal/human relations skills
Organizational and analytical skills
Attentiveness to detail
Ability to maintain confidentiality
Ability to operate personal computer and various software packages
Demonstrated understanding of the SfD sector
Other Qualities A practical commitment to sport and an in depth knowledge of a particular sport or a range of sports
Ability to travel independently when required
Ability to work flexible hours i.e. weekends, evenings when required
