Registration for Summer School through Indiana Online is open! It will run from April 8—May 31, 2019. Students can register at indianaonline.org . Classes run from June 3—July 18, 2019, and all course work must be completed by July 14, with final exams taken during July 15—18, 2019 at Westfield High School. Summer classes are offered at no cost to the student.

Graduating from high school in 2019 and planning to live at home? BAC is the perfect job for you! BAC will work around your college schedule and allows you to work summers too! There are options for AM only, PM only, and AM/PM. The pay is competitive. Reach out to Marci Derado at [email protected] if you are interested. Immunization Notice for Juniors: The following Immunizations are REQUIRED for Seniors before starting school Fall 2019:

1. 2 nd MCV4 (Meningitis) 2. Hepatitis A #1 & #2

● Requires 2 doses given at least 6 months apart ● If you have not started the Hepatitis A series, the first Hep A should be started ASAP

○ Must have documentation of Hep A #1 + an appointment date for Hep A #2 BEFORE school starts in the Fall

( Immunization EXEMPTIONS - Religious or Medical - can be accepted AFTER Spring Break for the following school year.) WHS students and parents: Please be aware that students may not have food delivered from any outside restaurant delivery service during the school day. ANY exceptions MUST have approval from an administrator. Students who forgot a lunch have the option of eating in one of our cafeterias. We have our main cafeteria that offers multiple food choices each day, our Famous Phil’s shop in the Learning Center that offers sandwiches, and our Box Office Bistro that has pizza every day. Lunch money can be deposited online at any time. If a parent drops off lunch from an outside restaurant it will be kept in the office area and the student it belongs to will be asked to eat that lunch in the office area. Students will not be called to the office to pick up lunch-if you anticipate bringing your child’s lunch to school, please let him or her know beforehand to check in at the office for his/her lunch. Seniors who have an afternoon release class, you may be interested in the Westfield Works Hospitality Job Fair to be held at Grand Park Events Center on Tuesday, April 30th from 10am until 2pm. All seniors must complete the Graduation Information Form by May 1st! This form asks about your post-graduation plans, as well as college and scholarship info. If you wish to be recognized at Senior Awards Night for your accepted scholarships on May 21st, be sure to include this info on the form. Entrepreneurship for their business plan focused on community outreach and sustainability. This was great way to finish off a fantastic season. Come celebrate National High Five Day at the WHS ComedySportz match this Thursday, April 18 at 7pm v Warren Central. Give a high-five to your favorite Actlete and cheer them on to victory! ATHLETICS: Boys Varsity Track finishes 1st place at Carmel-Noblesville. The boys track team had some great performances in winning a triangular meet with Carmel and Noblesville Tuesday evening. Events winners for the Shamrocks included Cooper Boehm in the 110 hurdles, Francis Agbo in the 100 dash, David Mannella in the 1600, the 4x100 relay of Boehm, Agbo, Mario Chalmers and Alex Kukura in the 4x100 meter relay, Agbo again in the 200, Kai Connor in the 3200, the 4x400 of Justin Homberg, Calvin Grenda, Joe Harris, and Mahamat Djour, and Jacob Netral with another great performance in the discus. The highlight of the evening for the boys was a 1-2-3-4 sweep of the 1600, with Mannella, Tyler Smith, Samuel Novak, and Max Gutwein all breaking 4:40. Other scorers included Kukura in the 100, Homberg in the 400, Cole Micho with a great race in the 400, Calvin Grenda in the 300 hurdles, Djour in the 800, Jacob Beene and Kyler Koning in the 3200, Colin Caldwell and Netral in the shot put, Jonathan Frey, David Garcia Prada, and Peyton Cason in the pole vault, and Chalmers in the Long Jump. The boys are back in action at Noblesville in a triangular JV meet, and at Fishers next Tuesday. Girls Varsity Tennis falls to Brownsburg High School 4-1. The Girls Varsity Tennis team lost a hard fought match to Brownsburg Monday night 1-4. #1 Chole Kalis lost 4-6, 3-6 #2 Julia Gabennesch lost 2-6, 4-6 #3 Emma Schwind won 6-1, 3-6, 7-5 #1 Doubles of Meredith Carlson and Maddie Heilmann lost 6-7(3), 5-7 #2 Double of Katy Zaloudek and Maya Raymond lost 2-6. 3-6 The team is 2-2 on the season. Girls Varsity Softball lost a non-conference game against Decatur Central 11-1 on Saturday. The Rocks were led offensively by Brooklyn Carey who went 2-3 in the game. Emily Revercomb had one RBI in the loss. Defensively the team was led by Avery Parker

with three assists and three putouts at Shortstop. The Rocks play again on Tuesday evening against Fishers. The final call out meeting for girls volleyball for the upcoming 2019 season is Tuesday, April 16th in room 2224 during plus time. Come get a summer/fall calendar and learn about the program. The Athletic Department will have a college signing event on Thursday, April 25 at 3:00 in the main office atrium by Door #6. Any senior athlete that has committed to collegiate athletics is invited to attend. Athletes should stop by the athletic office to pick up registration information and sign up. Athletes are also responsible for inviting for inviting parents, family, coaches, and anyone else they would like to attend. SCHOOL COUNSELING CENTER: Students, are you interested in studying abroad for your 4 year college experience? If so, a representative from the University of Dundee in the UK will be at WHS on Thursday, April 18 with lots of information to share. Please express your interest to Mrs. Brooks in the Counseling Center if you are interested in learning more about the University of Dundee. REMINDER: Medical Information must be submitted through the PARENT PORTAL of PowerSchool in order for your child to be treated in the health clinic. This includes administering Ibuprofen and Acetaminophen. We will not be calling parents for permission to give medications unless the student is significantly ill. This must be updated EVERY School Year. If you have having difficulty getting into your Parent Portal, please contact the Central Office for assistance We have a new security system this year called Safe Visitor . For the safety and security of our students and staff ALL visitors to the school will need to be prepared to show their driver’s license or photo identification as a visitor in our school.
