The current approved reuirsemnts of ASNE BWP Code Section XI
edition and addenda rqutre Levl III MOE examiners recertification
vey three years.
Rationale
Tme c Society of on Destructive Testing. Reco Practice No.
SOT-TC-1A* August 1964 Edition (Reference paragraph 9.7.2)
published policy Is for five-year recertification pertods. This
certification period was also Incorporated Into ASN6 PV Code.
Section XI. 1983 Edition, Minter 1983 Addenda.
ASI KP Code Case I1-341 and M-356 states that the certification
peritod for LEVEL III NOE examiners certification period may be
extended to five years. Several of TVA's Level III examiners'
certification requirmaents will expire In February 19883 and usage
of these code cases would permit a two-year extension on their
current certification. Also, the extension would be more economical
for training purposes.
