Dear Assoc. Prof. Nongnit Teerawatanasuk,
It is with a great pleasure to inform you that the Directorate General of Higher Education,Ministry of Education and Culture, Republic of Indonesia is offering "Developing CountriesPartnership Program on Scholarship (KNB)" which is provided to Master Degree program atone of 13 prominent universities in Indonesia to applicants from around the world including tothose from Thailand. The program is very important as not only to generate future leaders inthose specific regions but also to tighten the relationship among developing countries.
The scholarship will be provided for a maximum of 36 months period of study, and thesuccessful candidates are expected to arrive in Indonesia by the end of August 2014. The KNBscholarship will cover monthly allowances, health insurance, tuition fee, a round-trip economyclass air ticket from the international airport of the student's home countries to Indonesia andetc.
The application form can be downloaded from KNB Scholarship website: www.knb.dikti.go.idand the completed application form and its supporting documents should arrive at theIndonesian Embassy not later than end of March 2014 and should be addressed to:

As the strong commitment to supporting the terms Education for AIL DirectorateGeneral Higher Education Ministry Education and Culture through DirectorateInstitutional and Collaboration Affatrs has been running the Scholarship schemefor Developing Countries Citizens to pursue and develop its competencies inMaster Degree level named Developing Countries Partnership on Scholarship orwidely known as KNBScholarship,
Since 2007, the scholarship has been granted more than 640 students from 64developing countries around the world such as from Africa, Asia, Pacific, EastEurope, and South America to study at 13 Indonesian leading Universities,
The program is very important not only for generate the future leader for thosespecific region but also to strengthening the relationship among developingcountries, We in Indonesia believe that a good relationship between countries isstarted from a good relationship among its people.

The Tenth Conference of Heads of States of Non-Aligned Movement (NAM)countries commenced in Bandung from i« - 6th September 1992 concluded,among others. the idea of scholarships provided by the Ministry of Education andCulture. In 1993 the Government of the RepubliC of Indonesia started offeringpostgraduate (master degree) scholarships to students from the NAM membercountries.
Since 2002, after the cold war ended, the program had been offered not only tothe NAM member countries, but also to the developing countries such asThailand, Fiji, South Korea, Surinarne, Guyana, Turkey, Vietnam, and Vanuatu. Infact, this program has attracted more applicants, and by 2013, 647 students from64 countries had been awarded this scholarship.
Due to the international political escalation, the use of the term "NAM" wasconsidered irrelevant. Therefore, the program had been changed to BeasiswaKemitraan Negara Berkembang (KNB) or Developing CountrlesPartnership program on Scholarship.

The objectives of this program are:1. To promote deeper cultural understanding among developing countries;
2. To strengthen the relationship and mutual cooperation among developingcountries;
3. To contribute to the development of human resource quality.
The scholarship is offered to foreign student to do their Master Degree at one of13 prominent universities in Indonesia on study program as listed below (beadvised that not every university offers the following study program):

a. LanguageLanguage instruction in lectures is recommended in Bahasa Indonesia
b. ThesisThesis should be written in Bahasa Indonesia unless the university suggestedotherwise

The KNB Scholarship will be covering:
1. Settlement Allowance of Rp.1.000.000,- will be given upon arrival inIndonesia;
2. While taking the Indonesian language course and preparatory programs, astudent will receive Rp. 1.850.000,-/month (Livingallowance only); I
3. During their Master Program, the students will receive monthly allowancesas follow:

4. The scholarship will be provided for a maximum of 36 months period ofstudy (In case of early program completion, the scholarship will be stoppedsoon after the student set off far their home country); I

5. A health insurance with a maximum of Rp.200.000,- monthly premt (In caseof the cost of medical services exceeded to those covered by the healthinsurance, the difference should be borne by the student);
6. A round-trip international airfare (economy class) from the internationalairport of the student's home countries to Indonesia, including localtransport to the host university,
7. The Scholarship only covers for one person.
* Note: Other expenses beside those mentioned above will be borne by thestudents.
1. Maximum age is 35 years old;
2. Posses a bachelor degree;3. Have a TOEFL score of 500 or equivalent;
4. Complete the on-line application form;
5. He/she must be recommended by the Indonesian Embassy in the respectivecountry;
6. He/she must be in a good health proved by an official medical statementfrom authorized medical practitioner;
7. Prior to the departure to Indonesia, the Successful candidates will berequired to sign a statement letter provided by the KNB Scholarshipmanagement.

b. Procedures1) Download Invitation letter from the KNBScholarship website;2) Bring the Invitation letter, Passport or Birth Certificate, Academic
Certificates and Academic Transcripts to the Indonesian Embassy toacquire the recommendation letter;
3) Complete the on line application process;4) Selection process;5) The Selection Results will be published in the KNB Scholarship Website
and through the Indonesian Embassy publication channel;
All the application process is conducted through KNB Scholarship websitewww.knb.dikti.go.id.While doing the application, please pay attention to someimportant information as follow:
1. We suggest you to search for information regarding the intended universitiesand study programs. once you are selected you arc not allowed to changeneither the universities nor the study programs.
2. The recommendation letter from Indonesian Embassy is a must. in case ofthere are no Indonesian representatives in your country you have to ask therecommendation letter from the nearest Indonesian Embassy accredited toyour country.
3. All the required documents have to be written/ officially translated inEnglish.
4. The participants from English speaking country still have to attach thedocument proven their English proficiency.
S. The intended university has the right to do their selection methods includingthe live interview with the potential candidates through Internet network.
