    Lounges, Pubs and Bars

Mumbai is filled with tons of exotic lounges and pubs/bars.

People generally confuse Night clubs and Lounges or pubs to be

the same, but they are different from each other. The Primary

service of a Lounge or a pub is to provide alcohol in a place with

attractive ambience, where as the primary service of a Club is

provide music with a dance floor.

Pub Culture was initially despised against in places like Delhi

and Mangalore. The infamous Mangalore incident where young

girls were beaten out of a pub by certain political activists

because in their opinion it was spoiling the Indian Culture, is a

    good example of it.

Yet Mumbai embraced this new culture with arms wide open. The

Culture of catching up with your friends over a few drinks in a

place with loud music, the Culture of having no inhibitions of

drinking or smoking under the same roof with Elders.

Pubs, sometimes also come with live music. Generally entry is free

in these places but a few of them have cover charges.

Lounges, on the other hand are also very popular with youths. In

the past couple years there has been a huge increase in the

number of Sheesha Lounges in the city. Flavoured Hookahs had

become the favourites of college crowd.

    Late night Eating holes

From roadside kebab stalls to 24-hour coffee shops, Mumbai

after-hours pit stops are a tradition that won't be stopped by

'official' curbs on nightlife. This is where the city that never

    sleeps really kicks in.

Behind Taj Mahal Hotel, Tulloch Road, Apollo Bunder,

    Bademiya

What started 70 years ago as a late-night roadside restaurant on a

moving cart is now a Mumbai landmark, serving kebabs and baida

rotis (eggs in traditional Indian bread) to opinionated crowds

who sit at rickety tables, lean on the hoods of cars or just stand, in

order to eat what could be the some of best post-midnight kebabsin Mumbai.

    Ayubs

Shop No. 5, 43, Dr. V.B. Gandhi Marg, Fort (near Rhythm House),

Late-night restaurants in Mumbai are all about convenience, a

truism the staff at Ayubs have taken seriously since 1983.

Super-quick waiters can rattle off the entire menu by heart, but

they usually end up speeding back to customers with Ayub's

legendary chicken rolls (everyone seems to want them).

Because the diner is a little tricky to find, it's usually not too

    crowded. Major plus point.

    Bharat Dairy and Juice Centre

Second Summer Heights, opposite Bhartiya Vidya Bhavan, K.M. Munshi Marg

A sanitized, late-night vegetarian restaurant close to Marine Drive

and next to Bharati Vidya Bhavan College, Bharat Dairy and Juice

Centre looks like just another hole in the wall.

Ask your parents -- theyll tell you this landmark is known forsalty South Indian food, chaat (bhel and sev puri) and toasted

    take-away sandwiches.

But it's most famous for its sickeningly sweet but delicious

handmade ice creams, especially the roasted almond and sitafal.

24-hour coffee shopsVivanta by Taj President, 90 Cuffe Parade

A rundown of Mumbai late-night restaurants wouldn't be

complete without a mention of the many 24-hour hotel coffee

shops that for years have added a touch of class to the post-drinks

    parade around town.

Popular stops include the Shamiana at the Taj Mahal Palace &Tower in Apollo Bunder, Vista at Taj Lands End in Bandra and

Lotus Caf at JW Marriott in Juhu. The Trattoria at Taj President in

Cuffe Parade is South Mumbai's time-tested 24-hour coffee shop.

    Outskirts Spots

Apart from the above covered night spots of Mumbai, there are many easily

reachable happening places in the outskirts of the city. With the hustling

bustling of the metro, people are increasingly looking to spend some quite

    peaceful time at these spots.

Attraction of a good long drive, clean unpolluted air and free from

commotion of the city, is the reason these places are becoming popular

    weekend destinations.
