Durante el evento en Aachen, con el tema Sustainable Mining. Business Opportunities for México and Germany within the Mining Sector,

Objetivo: explorar oportunidades de negocio entre empresas mexicana y alemanas para cooperar y desarrollar proyectos sustentables en la industria minera en México.

Organizadores: LAV (The Business Association for Latin America), en cooperación con ProMéxico, IHK Aachen (Cámara de comercio alemana en Aachen), VDMA (Asociación Alemana de Ingeniería), DEG, KFW IPEX Bank.

Participantes: Representantes de la industria minera, cámaras, académicos, expertos y bancos.

Promoción del Proyecto de Minería Don Balo para Oro y Plata

Round Table con temas: Integración y Cooperación para la transferencia de tecnología, desarrollo de proyectos, modelos de negocio, personal para las minas de México y Alemania, carencia de egresados, Inversiones, cooperación para pasar de empresas proveedoras a empresas socias, la seguridad en México, y el acuerdo firmado entre la Unión Europea y México para el aseguramiento de materias primas (VP Antonio Tajani y SE Bruno Ferrari)

3. Estrategias y Acciones Elaboradas

La estrategia seguida en evento de minería fue enfocarlo en lograr tener participación de los sectores necesarios para que puedan desarrollarse los proyectos: empresas, academia, bancos, organismos, cámaras. Con esta estrategia y en cooperación con los otros organizadores y con la ayuda del Ministerio de Economía, Construcción, Energía, y vivienda de Nordrhein-Westfalen, pudimos reunir en la universidad RWTH a los principales actores. Se comenzó con presentaciones que pusieron el tema en contexto para después pasar a una discusión abierta con las opiniones de los temas que tenían de interés los participantes. Al final del evento se invitó a las empresas mexicanas a una visita organizada por IHK Aachen: Empresa Aker Wirth, para evaluar maquinaria. Durante el evento se entregó material y al final del evento se tuvo un lunch patrocinado que sirvió para el Networking.

4. Comentarios y Recomendaciones Generales

A. Evaluar la posibilidad de realizar un evento en conjunto con LAV en México en 2013 para llevar a una delegación de empresas alemanas.

B. Evaluar la posibilidad de cooperación entre universidades Mexicanas y Alemanas en cuestiones mineras (UNAM, RWTH)

C. Fomentar el intercambio de Know-How y tecnología Alemania México

D. Traer en siguientes eventos más proyectos como el de Grupo Minero Argoro para presentar a inversionistas y bancos como KfW y DEG con esquemas de participación.

E. Buscar convertir a los proveedores de maquinaria en socios y partners de los proyectos en México.

F. Fomentar la cooperación para aseguramiento de materias primas. G. Invitar a más empresas (aumentar el número de participantes) H. Invitar a posibles compradores de materias primas para desarrollar proyectos en México con

inversión en minas mexicanas y transformar los minerales con valor agregado en México para fortalecer las cadenas de suministro.

Se realizó una visita a la planta de producción de Aker Wirth en Erkelens, Alemania. Asistentes:

Se dio un recorrido por la planta de producción. Se hablaron de detalles técnicos de las máquinas. Se dejó abierto el canal de comunicación para ver alternativas de negocio.

E. Perfil de empresas Mexicanas

Altos Hornos de Mexico, S.A. de C.V. (AHMSA) is the largest integrated steel plant in the country. It has corporate offices in Monclova, Coahuila, in the center of the Mexican state of Coahuila, 155 miles from the United States border. In an area of nearly 3,000 acres operates two steelworks plants. AHMSA´s operations start with the extraction of coal and iron ore and finishes with the manufacture of high value-added steel products. Currently, AHMSA operates at an annual production rate of 3.5 million metric tons of liquid steel, and it has a workforce of 19,000 people, including its subsidiary companies. It is a national leader in the production and commercialization of flat steel products including Hot Rolled Coil, Wide Plate, Cold Rolled Coil, Tinplate and Tin-Free Steel. It also produces non-flat steel products like Heavy Shapes. The Company has its own coal mines in Palau, located 70 miles from Monclova. Once extracted, the washed coal is shipped by railroad to AHMSA’s coke plants. The main source of iron ore is located in Hercules, Coahuila, a mine owned by AHMSA. From that point the iron ore is transported to AHMSA through a 180 mile pipe (called Ferroduct) that crosses the Coahuila desert. The Company also has iron ore mines in some other Mexican states. Request: Investment/Funding to Develop a Silver and Gold Open Pit Mining Project in Coahuila, MEXICO

Description: With the boost that the mining industry has received in the past years due to record high prices in precious metals and constant appreciation and demand for them in many industries (specially for silver and gold), Grupo Minero ARGORO S.A. de C.V. business strategy is to explore, acquire, and ultimately develop mineral ore deposits inside geologically prospective areas within mining friendly regions in Mexico. The Company focus is on projects that contain significant size potential, which are or will be, of interest to develop and produce precious and base metals in mid-size and large scale. Grupo Minero ARGORO S.A. de C.V. objective is to position at the top of the quality scale in mining and mineral processing industry. Supporting the development of State Economy and Industries by helping to sustain the viability of regional communities and infrastructure through responsible development and jobs creation in the zone. We are searching for investment to develop our Open Pit Mining Project, in which early exploration sampling, analysis, and tests have shown it has a huge potential. Innovative aspects and main advantages / benefits: Unique conditions are gathered at this LIMESTONE HOSTED Ag & Au DISSEMINATED CRETACEOUS DATED DEPOSIT for its successful development. Almost 1/2 of the ore limestone layers are exposed inside "DON BALO" Mining Concession and terrain allows access to most parts of it through dirt roads. Location of the ore is privileged, railroad and a 2 lane highway run through it and two small water dams are in proximity. Research has shown that the ore is not inside any Federal, State or Regional natural reservoirs. Monterrey, N.L. Mexico (MTY) main International Airport is just a 2 hour drive away from future work site, and it is a 45 minute drive away from Coahuila State Capital. Economic development in the zone will benefit, directly and indirectly, hundreds of families that will incorporate to the labor force required for this Project.
