Industrial Visit:- EMRI Headquarters GUJARAT STATE.

Departure time:- 10:45 AM.

We the students of the Xcellon Institutes got the opportunity to visit the state headquarters of

the EMRI 108 service.

We departed the campus @ 10:45 AM. In the bus of Claris. We reached there by travelling

through city after 45 min’s of travelling. As we reached there we went through the security

check. We were welcomed by the staff over there; we had group photos on the entrance.

We saw a LCD T.V welcoming us; we were delighted by seeing this big organisation also

mad a special arrangement for us.

We were divided in to group of two for the better communication with the staff and knowing

the whole process.

We were first taken to the “ANANYA” a lab for training the EMT (Emergency Medical

Technician) and pilots of the 108 ambulance.

We were astonished by seeing the dummy which are called Manikin’s of different kinds on which

the EMT’s get training. The people basically from the science background are being selected for

the training at EMRI. They have a 45 days programme for training the EMT’s. They crate the

real time situation and train the EMT’s according to it. The Manikin’s are very advance and will

tell you that if wrong treatment is going on the dummy’s. The trainers give the EMT’s the

training for very basic and very complex situation’s. The Manikin of pregnant women are also

kept to train the EMT’s for delivering the baby correctly. They are trained for people having

breathing problem, heart problem etc. They are being taught to how to give artificial oxygen

through simulators to the patient. They are especially for handling the heart patience. The is a

very small advanced defibrillator machine of PHILLIPS company. Which is very enough to give

the required amount of shocks to the person who has got the heart attack.

In the “ANANYA” room we were also been displayed different types of the stretchers. They

had three different type of the stretchers.

• Spine board.

• Scoop Stretcher.

• Bed sheet Stretchers.

� Spine Board:- This is the special stretcher for the person who gets hurt in the spinal area, or

in the neck.

� Scoop stretcher:- This type of Stretcher is used when the patient body is scattered and

difficult to collect the body parts.

� Bed sheet stretcher:- This type of the stretcher is used for fetching the people from the

bed to the stretcher.

EMT’s are trained how to pinch the needle into the human’s body for transferring the blood in

the times of emergencies. They every year change the skin of the manikin for accurate training of

the EMT’s. There are various essential drugs that are kept in the ambulance to give the treatment

till the patient reaches the hospital.

Then we were headed to the administration department where the staff runs the and keeps the

data of all the records of all the 32 lakh cases handled. The track the report on the basis of

unique identification number. This servie is so fast that if we give the identification number, year

& month of the case. They can supply us the record within 5 to 7 min’s. This where the efficient

management shows up in the organisation, that directly reflects the image of the company.

Mr Rajesh Patel the departmental head guided us through the journey of whole the process.

We saw the server room and he told the following things.

• The server can handle 300 calls at a time.

• The sever is capable of handling 1,00,000 calls a day.

• The CTI technology is used. (Computer Telephone Integrate )

• There is a special program developed for this whole process.

• Every details of the caller and the conversation is being recoded and conserved here.

• A unique case ID is generated by the computer itself as the call comes.

• There Approx. 4.3 corer call recording’s.

• There are in total 35 server’s

After visiting the PCR department we were directed to the conference room and over there we

saw the small documentary on the EMRI 108 service. We acknowledge that there are in total 506

ambulances in Gujarat state and EMRI works in 12 states of India including of Andhra Pradesh,

Uttarakhand, Goa, Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, Assam, Meghalaya, Madhya Pradesh, Himachal

Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Uttar Pradesh and 2 Union Territories Dadra & Nagar Haveli and Daman

& Diu. It’s a 24 X 7 emergency service. And it’s calling service are toll free from any mobile of

any network. They have tie up with TRAI for free calling on 108 number.

The number 108 is also scientifically derived.

A. 1-0-8 is a technologically acceptable number enabling the processing of calls to occur

faster

B. 1-0-8 functions effectively as a user friendly number because during a crisis situation the

eye automatically searches the first digit on the number pad which is 1 and then moves

downward to find 0.This is the exact order in which 1-0-8 is being laced.

C. 1-0-8 is a primordial number resonating across countries, cultures, religions and is also a

prime number to astrologers, astronomers, linguists and mathematicians.

D. 1-0-8 beads of a rosary for 108 incantations is a namajapa of a Personal God.

E. Krishna is said to have danced with 108 Gopis the ecstatic Raasa Leela on moon lit

nights in Brindavan.

F. Cosmic Dancer Lord Natraja danced the 108 karanas or momentory freezes.

G. The diameter of the sun is 108 times the diameter of the earth.

H. The number 108 is used in Islam to refer to God.

I. In the Jain religion , 108 are the combined virtues of five categories of holy ones,

including 12, 8, 36, 25 and 27 virtues respectively.

Then at the end we were shown the real ambulance and the equipment’s inside it.

There are two type of the ambulance ASL and BSL.

ASL means the Advance Ambulance and BSL means the Basic Ambulance. The main difference

is only the compact ECG machine inside the ambulance.

In the end of the visit we were been given a Magazine of the EMRI which is published monthly

as token.

We also visited the van which is specially designed for the taking the new bron baby and mother

safely to the native place form the hospital this programme name is given as “KHIL

KHILAHAT”.

We returned to the Xcellon campus by the 3.00 PM. We learned many thing from them and we

can say that the EMRI is doing the wonderful service.
