29.03.2016 REPORT OF THE BOARD OF STUDIES OF THE DEPARTMENT OF AUDIOLOGY & SPEECH- LANGUAGE PATHOLOGY Time: 10.00 am Venue: Staff Room The board of studies of the Department of Audiology Speech-Language & Pathology began with a formal word of welcome by Chairperson Mr. R. Sundaresan Head of the Department of Audiology & Speech-Language Pathology. He acknowledged the presence of university Nominee Dr M.P Ravanan Special invitees Dr.Rajalakshmi Ph.D (Audiology) & Dr. Sunil Kumar. Ravi Ph.D (Speech Language Pathology), Dr. (Sr.) Lourdu Mary, Research Department and staff of the Department of Rehabilitation Science. The meeting was called to order by the Chairperson. The agenda was presented 1. To insist and implement Formation of Board of Examiners (BOE) Committee and members with immediate effect. 2. To make a list of examiners from other universities for carrying out question papers settings, valuation work of semester examination. 3. The committee insisted to follow RCI prescribed theory hours and clinic clock hours. 4. BOS committee recommended that minimum marks for internal assessment is not required. However students have to get combined (both theory & internal marks) of 50 % to be declared as pass. 5. Student can start his/her internship immediately after passing in clinical practicum of three years ,irrespective of clearing of theory papers as followed by university of Mysore ( All India Institute of Speech & Hearing(AIISH) , Mysore ) 6. Degree certificate should be awarded under “Faculty of Science” and the same should be informed to university and report for necessary action. 7. Equipments should be purchased according to RCI norms and the equipments should be scrutinized by the expert committee and purchased. The committee should consist of HOD of Audiology & Speech Language Pathology & 2 faculty from the department & one member from BOS (External). The Justification for the equipment with all the technical specification should be sent to the manufacturers. Quotations received have to be checked against the specification. After the receipt of equipment, it has to be certified that the accessories and equipment are as per the order and working satisfactorily. (Issues as warranty, AMC can also be checked at the time of purchase). 8. Monthly RCI CRE Workshops & Seminars should be conducted in both Audiology & Speech Language Pathology. 9. Appreciated the , “Best Clinician Award and Awards for Best Clinical Conference10. The committee recommended starting UGC Minor and major project immediately. 11. BOS advised the staff to focus on international publication. 12. The Committee recommended for procuring following equipments Immittance audiometry-1 IHS/Integrated BERA/ASSR/OAE-1

REPORT OF THE BOARD OF STUDIES OF THE DEPARTMENT OF AUDIOLOGY & SPEECH-

LANGUAGE PATHOLOGY

The board of studies of the Department of Audiology Speech-Language & Pathology began with
