LASBINJO INTEGRATED VENTURES LIMITED The A&E WSD team lead investigated the activities

of the PSP operator at Akinwale, Church and

Thomas Salako street respectively.

➢ The team lead went round to evaluate the performance of the PSP operator (Lasbinjo Integrated Ventures Limited).

➢ Most of the bins on the various streets were observed to be over flown.

➢ Residents / shop owners said PSP has been issuing bills regularly but collection performance has dropped compared to when they commenced operations.

➢ PSP operator when contacted via phone call mentioned delay experienced at dumpsite as affected their turnaround time therefore leading to the over flown waste seen on the stretch of the streets.

• The PSP Manager was contacted via phone call and invited for a meeting scheduled for Monday 4th November, 2019.

MINUTES OF MEETING WITH LASBINJO INTEGRATED VENTURES LIMITED (PSP OPERATOR)- (IFAKO IJAIYE WARD) IFAKO IJAIYE LGA

Venue: A&E office, PUMAU Building, Adeniyi Jones, Ikeja. Date: Monday 4th November, 2019. Time: 10:30 am. Sequel to the investigation and findings on the poor waste management observed by the A&E (WSD) team lead on Saturday 2nd November, 2019 the PSP covering the area - Lasbinjo Integrated Ventures Limited was invited for a meeting; 1.0 ATTENDANCE:

• The A&E (WSD) team lead Mrs. Bola Adewumi - AD,A&E (WSD)

• Mr. Adebanke Adenle (Manager Lasbinjo Integrated Ventures Limited)

• Mr. Akintola Lekan - A&E (WSD)

2.0 AGENDA FOR DISCUSSION: ➢ Irregularities within catchment area. ➢ Re-occurrence of black spots. ➢ Issues of Environmental Aesthetics

➢ Over delay in waste collection

3.0 ISSUES RAISED BY PSP OPERATOR

• Delay at dumpsite.

• Bad roads within the area.

• Absence of enforcement and policing

4.0 RESOLUTIONS

• The team lead mentioned the need for consistency in PSP operations, and that effective policing

will take place when PSP Operator improves on services rendered.

• Operator should within the next two (2) weeks put in place necessary preparations to improve on

services in the area of waste collection.

• LAWMA has been and shall continually upgrade the dumpsite to ensure improved turnaround

time.

• The PSP operator should go back to the drawing board and repair all mechanically faulty trucks

for effective operations as well as have an effective route plan to contain delay experienced in

dumping.

5.0 RECOMMENDATION

• The operator has been instructed to improve on services within catchment area and conquer

the various black spots within his ward.

• Operator should always contact the CDA chairman when there’s going to be a shift in days of

collection.

• Fagbamwo, Home science, Saka Abule rd, Adeyemi Makinde, Suberu, Olusegun Oladapo Ave, Ajayi Busari, Alayo Peters, Akinde rd, Segun Oladapo, Zawiyat Sofwat, Wole Alanukintan, Musa etc.

➢ Residents / shop owners complained about the irregularities of the PSP operator.

➢ Mrs. Joy (Trader on Saka street, Off Powerline road, Ajegunle) claimed operator have not been coming to cart their waste since she relocated to the shop.

➢ Over flown waste was seen in front of No 2, Saka Street, Off Powerline road, Ajegunle.

➢ Over flown waste was seen in front of No 3, Powerline road, Ajegunle.

➢ The supervisor (Mrs. Opeyemi Aminat) said delay at dumpsite has affected their mode of operations also, the cause for the backlogs / over flown waste seen on the streets.

• Pictures were taken.

• Operator was told to cart waste on streets that are yet to be done.

• PSP was warned by the A&E WSD team to improve on services rendered to residents and imbibe good client relationship ethics.

• Residents / shop owners was encouraged to pay their waste bill if the operator comes to cart their waste and sensitized on the implications and unethical patronage of cart pushers as well as the sorting and bagging of solid waste before disposal.

The A&E (WSD) team carried out inspection with Mrs.

Taiwo Ilori (Supervisor Kamjek Nigeria Enterprises) on

the following area:

• Sancho cr, Olubukola, Makinde cl, Olusola Ave, Akinsola, Odusola, Agbeke Adesokan cl, Agbado Ijaiye rd, Kunle Taiwo cl, Oliyide, Oguntona, Ajala, Akinsola, Adelawa etc.

• Pictures were taken.

• Residents / shop owners were sensitized on the importance of proper waste bagging and disposal, also discouraged from the act of patronizing cart pushers and urged them to imbibe the culture of waste sorting from source.

• Operator was told to cart waste on street that are yet to be done.

• PSP was asked by the A&E WSD team to improve on services rendered to residents and imbibe good client relationship ethics.

inspection on the following area:

• Iresi, Old Otta rd, Alh Malawo, Dele Ibidun, Dadday Oniyide, Atanda Akinremi, Ajiboye, Powerline, Raimi cl, Aiyegbami, Lagos-Abeokuta express,

• A final verbal warning was given to the residents of No 5, Basanya Street, Off Iyana-Odo, Orile Agege by the team before the authority takes adequate action.

• The team investigated the source of the burnt tyre seen on the entrance to Popoola Street, Off Iyana-Odo, Iyana-Ipaja bus-stop, Orile Agege and discovered the community uses it ward off bandit.

• Operator was told to cart waste on street that are yet to be done.

• The team investigated the source of the waste seen inside the un-completed building at Adebule street junction, Off Efunshetan, Agege and residents/traders claimed passersby are responsible for the waste inside the building.

• PSP was asked by the A&E WSD team to improve on services rendered to residents and imbibe good client relationship ethics.

• Pictures were taken.

• Residents / shop owners was encouraged to pay their waste bill if the operator comes to cart their waste and sensitized on the implications and unethical patronage of cart pushers as well as the sorting and bagging of solid waste before disposal.

Dopemu, Agege has complied with the PSP operator sequel to team visit on Tuesday 24th September, 2019.

➢ Mrs. Blessing (Supervisor Waste project partners) claimed delay at dumpsite affects their turnaround time thus the over flown waste seen on the streets.

➢ Sequel to the team visit to No 6, Oduwale Street, Off Amoo Street, Orile Agege on Friday 25th October, 2019 the team re-visited the premises to check their level of compliance and discovered that the waste is yet to be carted but residents claimed to have made payment.

➢ The Supervisor Waste project partners claimed payment is yet to reflect on their database but will check on getting to the office.

➢ Mrs. Blessing (Supervisor Waste project partners) claimed delay at dumpsite as affected their turnaround time and as a result, the over flown waste seen on streets.

➢ The team met with Mr. Ishola Bamidele (CDA secretary Shodolamu, Oko-Oba) who attested to the effectiveness of the PSP operator but claimed their services has recently dropped and some residents/traders have refused to pay their waste bill.

➢ Shop owners of No 8, Shodolamu Street, Off Oko-Oba road, Orile-Agege have refused to patronize the PSP operator.

OKE KOTO WARD ▪ Illegal dumpsite was seen inside Ministry

of Youth, Sport and Social Development (MYSSD) Ile-Pako field on Amoo Street, Orile Agege.

▪ The team met with the security personnel of the field who said the damaged fence barricade has not made it easy for them to apprehend anyone as they do throw the waste from the road into the premises.

▪ Mr. Hassan (MYSSD staff) claimed the agency had already contacted LAWMA to help cart the waste and they need LAWMA’s assistance for waste evacuation.

▪ Over flown waste bin was seen on the stretch of Anuoluwapo and Olurinde Street, Agbotikuyo bus-stop, Orile Agege respectively.

➢ Residents of No 39 & 44 Mojisola Street also attested to the effectiveness of PSP operator being back to work but needs to be more regular.

➢ Four (4) trucks belonging to Mid Royals Global Services Limited were seen under repair at Oluwakemi Street.

➢ Gracefield truck seen carting waste at Otunubi Street for Mid Royals Global Services Ltd.

4.0 RESOLUTIONS/ RECOMMENDATION

• AD, A&E said if the trucks are to be parked at the spot, the place should always be sanitized and

policed to prevent indiscriminate dumping of waste.

• The C.E.O (Clean Clear ventures) said construction is on-going for a parking space at Oke-Ira

which is due to be completed soon.

• The operator mentioned he has two (2) functional trucks and is servicing half of Oke-Ira central
