•Is a leading provider of voip and multimedia software and reference design to embedded device developers and oem’s

worldwide.

•It is an ip phone reference design.

FUSION RTOS

•Is a priority based, preemptive multitasking, real time operating system

designed and optimized for high performance DSP and media centric

microprocessors. It is one of the world smallest, most highly optimized rtos. It speed up the product development with

these innovative features:

Page 4: Report in itep

1.Built in ANSI C

2.Streaming data application

3.Includes queues, mailboxes, events, memory pools, pocket handlers,

semaphores……

4.Nested interrupts

5.Priority inversion protection

6.Source code provided to simplify development

DSPOS•is an operating system that is geared to the processing of data on a continuous basic in

real-time as it flows to and from external devices.

•It is a real time preemptive, multitasking priority based operating system.

• It is also royalty free operating system, that purchased as a library or source

code.

WIND RIVER SYSTEM

•It was formed by a partnership of Jerry Fiddler and Dave Wilner.

•It is a company providing embedded systems development tools for

embedded systems, middleware's, and other types of software.

VXWORKS

•Started as an improvement on a primitive ROM chip with a 4K kernel sold by a ready systems, now a mentor graphics product.

•It is designed for use in embedded systems. Unlike self-hosting system

such as Unix, Vxworks development is done on a host machining running Linux, Unix or Windows cross compiling target

software to run on various, CPU architecture.

NON-STANDARD LANGUAGES

PILOT-was a single user, multitasking os designed by Xerox parc in early 1977. It is written in Mesa programming languages,

totaling about 24,000 lines of codes.

•It designed as a single user system in a highly networked environment of other

pilot systems, with interfaces designed for inter-process, communication (IPC)

across the network via the pilot stream interface.

Page 10: Report in itep

•It combined virtual memory and file storage into one subsystem and used the

manager/ Kernel architecture for managing the system s and its architecture for managing the system and its resources.

•It designer considered a non preemptive multitasking model, but later chose a

preemptive system based on monitors.

•It is used as the os for the Xerox star work station. .

PERQ OS•Also referred to as the river PERQ or

ICL PERQ, was a pioneering workstation computer workstation

computer produced in the early 1980’s.

•It was written in PERQ Pascal.

•Designed was influenced by the original workstation computer, the Xerox alto-it

was the first commercially produced personal workstation.

•The origin of the name perq is from the perquisite.

LISP-BASED OPERATING SYSTEMLISP MACHINE OS-were general purpose

computer designed( usually use hardware) to efficiently run.

•Lisp is the main software languages.

•They were the first commercial single core workstation.

•It commercially pioneered many now common place technologies, including effective garbage

collection, laser printing, windowing system, computer mice, high resolution bit mapped

graphics rendering and networking innovation.

•The operating system were written in lisp machine lip, inter lisp (Xerox) and later

partly in common lisp.
