Along project dedicatedta the study ofthe EarlyBronz.e Age started on theAnlpoi valley, several sites and cemeteries being excavated at Poiana Anlpoiuluiand (H.Ciugudean). EarlyMiddle Agesettlements andcelTIeterieswereinvestigatedaswell ontheterritoryof AlbaIulia andBerghinalargestudybeing dedicated to thc [\1idd le Age fortresses Inedievale din 7din secoleleCluj-Napoca, 1986).These are same ofthe reasons why, deciding ta publish the archaeological reper-toire of the Alba district, we were obtiged to review evel)'locality and ta complete it withthe new discoveries made between1984-1995, as we)) as with the new studies publishedinthis period. However, the t\vo editors of this work are consciously, as was tenyears ago, that such a repertoireis never cOlnpletely, because new discoveries are cOlningta light every year. 'The volumeincludes ali the archaeJogical discoveries Inade an the territory of theAlbadistrict, thelocatitiesbeingarrangedinalphabetical order. Foreachlocality, thefindswere presentedin chronological order, according to their place of discovery. Mapswere offered only for the locaJities where the could be clearly localized and the siteswithout topographical location were excluded from the maps.Most of the discoveries arebriefly tTIainly the ones accidentalyfound,moredetailsbeingofferedincase of sistelnatic excavations, includingthenalnes of ar-chaeologistsandtheperiod of research. Takingintoconsiderationthecharacter of thiswork, thecontrovertedopinionswerenot includedintothetext, prezervingthegeneraldescriptions.
